Colby's POV:
I woke up to Devyn looking for something, "g'mornin dev" I said as I sat up. "Oh! Goodmorning, your outfit for your first day with Sam is over there I will be downstairs in the dining area with your breakfast."  She said as she left the room. I sit up and run my eyes, I hate this kid he's the worst and now I have to spend a whole month with him? This is torture. I slip on the out fit Devyn set out for me and I look in the mirror, at least I'll argue with him and look hot. I grab my father's necklace off my jewelry holder and I slip on my favorite rings. "Good your up!" My mom said joyfully as I walked into the dining area, as I begin to sit I see Sam across from me. He gives me a large smile and a wave, who would let this preppy queer be king? I internally sighed or I thought I did, "Cole Robert Brock!" My mother scolded as she slapped the back of my head. "Sorry.." I grumbled. Jake came over "today is a just you and Sam day." he whispered, I nodded and began eating.

Sam got in the carriage first and I followed after. After a few minutes I realized him and I were sitting close, too close, I moved farther away from the blonde. He looked at me with a bit of hurt and he looked away with a sigh. "Oh god shut up." I mumbled but apparently Sam heard, "At least I'm trying to make this month go smoothly and not trying to fight every five goddamn seconds like you!" He snapped. "Yeesh don't get your temper up flower boy. You still have to deal with me for a month." I responded as I looked away. "You have arrived!" The coachman said as he helped us out of the carriage. I glanced at Sam to see him blushing, falling for a really old coachman? Gross.

"So we walk this trail I assume?" The blonde said, "good work! Want a medal? A five year old could've told me that." I said as I began walking the long forresty trail. Sam huffed and followed after.

Once we arrived at a clearing a picnic was set up, and it was midday. I sat down and began to eat, I didn't eat much this morning. "Colby! I made this for you!" Sam said handing me a flower crown. "You really are some flower boy twink!" I spat out.The blonde looked at me in awe and stomped on the crown. I laughed at his anger, he huffed and grabbed his food. We sat eating in silence. We stayed and watched the sun set, "let's go now" Sam grumbled.

Once we reached the bottom of the trail the carriage arrived. I got in first Sam following. As we began our way back to our castles Sam let out long sighs.

Sam's POV:

I got out of the carriage and ran to my room. Not listening to a word my mother, Tara, Corey or any other staff said. I flopped onto my bed and began sobbing. "Sam? Vent to me, I'm your best friend I won't judge." Tara said as she sat next to me. "S-so you know h-how I-I like C-Colby?" I asked her sniffling, "yeah?" She responded. "Well h-he was k-kinda b-being a j-jerk b-but a-also c-calling me rude names. S-so I was getting m-mixed feelings and I'm just u-upset a-about i-it." I explained as I began sobbing again. She soothed me and rubbed my back, "it'll be ok, you guys will get along by th end of the month." I looked at her and smiled knowing she was right, well more hoping than knowing. "Thanks, do you wanna have a sleep over?" I asked with a sad giggle. Tara nodded and sat up, she left the room to get some supplies. "Hey hon?" My mom asked coming in, I hummed in response "Tara sleeping in your room tonight?" She asked seeing Tara walk in. "Yeah... that ok?" I asked back, she nodded placed a kiss on my forehead and left the room. "Ugh I'm exhausted, night Tara." I said as we crawled into my bed, "night Sam" she responded.

"Sam? Gotta get up! Colby will be here soon." Tara said shaking me. "Ugh what are we doing today?" I asked as I began getting dressed. "Your going to make pottery!" She said with some excitement. "Ooh fun! Hopefully I won't lose my temper. This look good?" I asked as I turned in a slow circle. "Hm... here put this on." She said handing me her necklace. "Wait... your staple necklace?" I asked. "Yeah, it was my great grandmother's, been passed down and now it's mine. Well has been but for this one day I want you to wear it." She explained,"Also your getting breakfast with Colby so you gotta get going!" We gave eachother a friendly kiss on the cheek and I began down the stairs. "There's the flower boy! Let's go." Colby said in a cheerful manner. I raised a confused brow but followed him into the carriage. "I just wanted to say I'm sorry about yesterday and how I was a total dick.... I made this." The brunette said handing me a poorly made flower crown, I laughed at his unartisticness and smiled at him.
