"Alright.. I guess I can stay a bit longer." I say, already unable to turn down this girl. "Yessss!" Lexa said pumping her fist in victory. "Let's play two truths and a lie." She said excitedly. I nodded and then said "Alright so... I've never broken a bone... I've flown a helicopter... and I've been in a relationship." I thought the answer might be obvious I don't want to give her anything too hard. "Oh come on that's too easy, you've never flown a helicopter!" Lexa says confidently. "Incorrect, I have." I say, surprised she got it wrong. Her eyes widen and her mouth drops open in surprise. "What?! Then what's the lie? You've broken a bone?" I shake my head no before saying "I've never been in a relationship. I thought that would've been obvious." "How the hell have you never been in a relationship? I mean... look at you!" She says gesturing up and down my body. I blush and look down shaking my head. "I don't know know what you're talking about... and beside.. I can't.. can't talk to people.." I say nervously. "You're talking to me right now. And... you're beautiful Clarke. Don't let anyone tell you differently." She says. It was nice and I appreciate it, but it just makes me more uncomfortable.

She must sense that because she changes the subject. "Ok so for me.. My dad is a secret agent, I'm gay, and... I uh.. have a kid." She tells me. I am more calm now that we changed the subject but get surprised by what Lexa says. "Ok you made that way too obvious. You're a terrible liar. I'm gonna say you don't have a kid."  I say looking up into her eyes again. Something had changed in them and she didn't look back into my eyes. It was like she was avoiding it altogether, like something I would do. "Lexa? Do you.. do you have a kid?" I ask softly and cautiously. "I-..." was all Lexa could get out before she moved her lips without any words coming out. "Oh my god..." I quietly breathed out. "I don't know.. why I said that..." she said still looking down at her lap. "So... you don't?" I ask confused. She finally looked up into my eyes before pulling out her wallet. My eyes were fixed on the wallet with a confused face as she pulled out a small picture. She looks at it, softens a little, and then hands me the picture with shaky hands. I cautiously take it, looking into her eyes to make sure it's ok. I look at the picture and see a little boy no older than 2. "I guess it's my turn to tell you about me..." Lexa says as I stare at the photo with an open mouth.

"So let me get this straight... you had a kid 2 years ago? When you were 15? How... what happened?" I ask cautiously, not wanting to trigger anything if this is a rough topic. "I..uhm.. let's just say it happened.. it wasn't planned.. and I decided I wasn't ready to raise a kid. So he's with his adoptive parents in Washington DC. They're great people... they send me pictures at least once a year." She tells me. I can tell she's not ready to say how it happened so I don't push. "...his name?" I ask. Lexa sniffles before saying "Aden... I hope one day I get to meet him... you know, when he can understand everything." I smile at her and place a hand on her leg. "He'll love you." I assure her. She smiles back as a tear slides down her cheek. She quickly wipes it away and takes a deep breath and lets it go. "Alright your turn." She says seeming like she's trying to hype herself up.

We play a few more rounds of two truths and a lie and then a couple of never have I ever before I have to leave to go home. I actually enjoyed the time I had with her. I never would've thought I could have a real friend. But maybe this is the start of a new part in my life. I'm happy it's finally heading in a better direction.
