The morning went by fast and we were lining up to go to combat training. This class held people of all ages and luckily, I had Crystal in this class. I know she was a good fighter for a six year old but, she should be playing with her dolls, not bashing another kids face in. And watching her do so makes me uncomfortable.
As we entered the gymnasium, the teacher started yelling out our instructions.
"Everyone, pick a partner and begin practicing. Towards the end of class I will pick your opponent and you two will duke it out in the ring."
Crystal and Candy both walked over to a mat and began throwing punches like little professionals. I stayed where I was, waiting for everyone to find a partner so I could just partner up with whoever was left.
"Wanna be my partner?" A familiar voice asked. I looked over and saw Kat standing there looking at me with a mischievous look in her eyes, and a lollipop in her mouth.
"No." I said looking for someone else, anyone else. But everyone had a partner. I sighed and looked back at her.
"But I guess I have to now don't I?" She nodded and ran to throw her lollipop away. We walked over to a mat and got into a fighting stance.
"Show me what'cha got hot stuff." She said with a grin. But before I could throw a punch, I was cut short by the voice of our teacher.
"The partner you have today will be your partner for the rest of the semester." My head snapped to his direction.
"What ?!" I spat through clenched teeth.
"You heard me. Now, get started ladies." I growled and bared my teeth at him.
"Oooh.. Someone's feisty today." Kat said smirking at me.
I glared at her. "Whatever. Let's go."
I put my hands up and slowed my breathing, focusing all of my senses on her and only her as I waited, anticipating her first attack. Her pupils dilated and the muscles in her right arm tensed and I knew that she was about to strike.
Before her fist could connect with my nose, I quickly caught it, catching her by surprise. She tried to pull away but I kept a firm grip on her. I saw a drop of sweat drip down her forehead and the muscles in her left arm tensed and I grabbed her fist before she could hook me in the jaw.
Her eyes widened as if she knew what my next attack was. I smirked at her and kicked her right in the stomach, sending her flying across the room. I walked over to where she was now laying and almost laughed at her. She was laying there gasping for air like a fish out if water.
I held out my hand, offering to help her up with a smirk.
"Wanna go again...partner ?" She glared at me but grabbed my hand and I pulled her up with ease. We continued fighting but the results remained the same. Her on the ground, and me standing up without a scratch.
"You are persistent. I'll give you that." I said pulling her up once again.
"Thanks." She said narrowing her eyes. Her voice was dripping with sarcasm.
Class was coming to an end and it was time for us to fight it out in the ring.
"Alright! Everyone line up." He yelled. Once we were all lined up he looked at us, narrowing his eyes.
"Crystal! Caitlyn! You two are first." He said pointing at the two girls. I heard Crystal gasp and I tensed up.
She looked up at me for reassurance.
"You got it kitten." I said giving her a small smile, hoping that what I said wasn't a lie. She nodded her head and slowly walked into the ring.
Caitlyn was already there smirking at her waiting. Her hair was blonde and was cut into a bob and she had pretty butterfly wings. She was taller than Crystal and was a little on the chubby side.
