“FICTIONAL CHARACTER”

As I thought I was ready for this, my thoughts become thoughts only.

.
Stubborn, was the perfect word to diffine me.
Pushing me away, but I stayed.

“Chinese is only for Chinese”

The phrase you always spoke, but I kept on hoping.

Because I know that you feel the same way, and I was right. Because before I love you, you love me first.

We became one, our relationship went smooth, happy, simple, memorable; Not until your parents
parted you from me, and as I thought that I’m ready for this, my thoughts became thoughts only.

Feeling this undying pain, was enough to kill me but I stayed because that was you wished for.
“We can’t be together, I’m Chinese and you know the rules. Chinese can only marry his/her same nation. You’ll just regret it when the time comes.”

You were right, but I never listened. And I’m glad that I didn’t, because loving you was the greatest mistake I ever commit.

Gray and old, as I am. But still remember every details of our love story.

Starts by teasing, falling, hoping… became one and end by parted.

The summary of our love story.

I blew the dust that covers the book I made and cleared my glasses.

‘Loving a Chinese was like falling inlove to a fictional character that you cannot ever had’

The quotes was written in a bold way to emphasis.

As I flip it into the last page, I smile bitterly after sighting your wedding picture at your wedding.

“Good morning, sir.” A teenager woman greeted.

“oh? It was you again.” I greeted back after recognizing the teenager that kept on going here.

She flash a sweet smile and made her pace towards me.

“Whoa, grandpa is not a grandpa. You can still recognize a person even afar.”

I rolled my eyes and gets another book at the shelf and flipped it as I spoke “Stop wooing me, I’ll never tell you about what happened to the man on the story.” I said referring the book that I made for you.“ So, go on, leave. I don’t want to be disturb from a naughty kid like you.” I shove away that made her pout.
Kids nowadays are really stubburn.

“But grandpa, you promise that if I’ll leave yesterday, you’re gonna spell it to me now, you promised that to me yesterday, remember?”

“Stop telling lies, kid. Now go on, leave, befor------“

“Eyyy… grandpa is grandpa, he can’t remember his promise to me. Grandpa is old------ whaaaa!!!” she scream and dashed out when I threw her the book that I’ve been holding.

“I will be back grandpa, you must tell it to me tomorrow, that’s a promise!” she announced running, before she completely vanished in my sight.

Tsk…tsk… tsk…

I shook my head and went back to my chair.

“My life was like me, gray and old, haha…” I utter and soon let out a heavy sighed.

I wonder how are you doing right now, are you happy? I guess. Just by looking at your daughter, being so bright, bubbly. You made her just like you.

The certified mini-you.

And now, it’s time for me to moved on and start living with the present.

Loving you was like loving a fictional character, that I couldn’t ever have.
