Chapter 1

Raven POV

I was finishing up my work when I heard a shuffle behind me. I jumped and grabbed the metal pipe beside me to defend myself. I slowly walked around the workstation and grabbed the flashlight to see better. I saw a glass jar roll my way before I decided to pick it up.

?-You finally catch on. The person said walking out of the shadows, but still couldn't see them clearly.

Raven-Who are you and what do you want? I asked the person with a shaky voice.

?-I want to know why my sister took such a liking to you. I just want to ask you a few questions and I will be out of your hair. Is that okay? The person asked softly.

Raven-Yeah what's your name? I asked the person and they walked over to a chair in the corner and took a seat. I flashed the light on them and it was a woman around my age.

Y/n-I go by Shadow and you knew my sister Luna. She said looking down.

Raven-How do I know you aren't lying? I asked her slowly.

Y/n-Simple I have watched everything since your people came down here. She said pointing at me with a medium sized blade.

Raven-So you've been stalking us? I asked her curiously.

Y/n-Not like that. My commander gave me a job but I gave it up before the Mountain people were involved. How do I say this...I was supposed to keep a close eye on all of your people who left the compound and if they did something against our people I had to inform her. Only thing was I reported y'all once. I was there when you passed out after getting that lady out of your head. I was actually there to check up on Luna. She told me the bare minimum about you and your situation. All I know is that your friend killed her and I can't just let that go. She said getting up from her seat and walking closer to me.

Raven-So why are you here? I asked looking up at her.

Y/n-I want a fight a fair 1 on 1 first to draw blood wins and once I get that I'll be out of your guys way and back home. She said placing her weapon down on the table.

Raven-You know I can't just do that right? I get it you lost your sister, but if you go down this road you will regret it trust me I have tried. I said trying to convince the grounder not to kill my friend.

Y/n-Just like how your so called friend killed your boyfriend. No better yet when your so-called own kind shoots you and now you're stuck in a brace? She said with an evil smirk. I looked up at her and slapped her across the face. Her head whipped to the side and she let out a dark chuckle.

Raven-You have no place to talk to me like that. Luna was a close friend who cared but that doesn't mean you have a place to talk about me and my friends mistakes like that. I said looking up at her. She brought her hand up to her face and rubbed it slightly before looking down at me.

Y/n-Get me my fight and I leave you alone. You'll know where to find me Reyes. She said walking out of the back doorway. I relaxed after I saw her leave.

Clarke-Hey I just got back from a meeting and dinner is done. She said walking into my workshop.

Raven-Um yeah can I ask you a question? I asked playing with the ring on my finger.

Clarke-Yeah what is it? She asked, putting her hand in her coat pocket leaning in the doorframe.

Raven-Where is Octavia? Haven't seen her since the Conclave. You know I just wanted to talk to her to make sure she is okay.

Clarke-She is actually going to be at-Everybody available now we need assistance in the supply yard! She was interrupted by the announcement on the comms. We looked at each other and ran to the yard. Once we got there we saw Octavia on the ground gasping for air. We tried to see who it was that attacked her but couldn't see.
