THE GATES OF THE Carrington Manor opens, as my car pulls in. I can hear the shouts of the paparazzi, yelling questions about the fire, Dad, Cristal or Hank, but I just keep a straight face, and ignore them all.

I get out of the car, and walk into the Manor, making my way up to my room.

I just got back from CA's office, where I had been working for the past month, as head of PR, along with Fallon, because Dad had disappeared, God knows where.

There had been some major damage control to do, even though we were still selling CA, because the reputation of our family was at stake.

I sigh, as I walk into my room, but my eyes widen at the big bouquet sitting right in front of me.

I let out a breath, as I walk towards it, finding a card.

Miss you and can't wait to see you again...

— Love, Max

A soft smile appears on my face, as I read the words.

Max had been away with his family, him and Liam trying to broker the deal between the Van Kirks and the Carringtons. Liam was still helping, even though Fallon chose Culhane over him, a fact which, I was not happy about.

Max had insisted, he was there for me, to help me through the loss of Cristal, but I finally convinced him, that I would be more grateful, if he put his efforts in making sure this sale happens, and not in trying to make me talk about my feelings.

So, he was in New York, with his family, trying to reconcile with them.

It has been weird not having Cristal around. I really hated her in the start, but we did develop a friendship at the end. But that doesn't mean, I want to sit around and talk about how much her absence hurts.

Us Carringtons deal with grief, by burying ourselves in work.

Today was the day, when Fallon and I would have lunch with both the Ridley brothers and their Uncle Maximillian.

It's weird that both Max and his Uncle share the same nickname. But, what can you do?

I open my closet, a huge grin on my face, pulling out an outfit, happy, because I finally get to see Max after almost a month apart.

"AWW." FALLON TEASES, A smirk on her face, as I get in the car. "Someone dressed up."
