(Your POV)
"There were more murders in Kofu," Mama says. "They say it's the same signature, without the toes and fingers and everything. The murderer's closing in on the Shizuoka prefecture, now."
"It's scary knowing there's an unidentified serial killer on the loose," I say, taking my jacket off and laying it on the back of the couch.
"It was all over the news," Papa says. "There are no witnesses, but the murders keep happening in population dense places."
"Someone would just pass by a dead body," Mama continues, "with parts of them missing. The signature is so easy to spot, now."
"What about the pros?" I ask. "Think anyone could've spotted them?"
Papa shakes his head. "No one has. There aren't even witnesses."
"I made mozzarella sticks if you want any, Y/N," Mama says.
"Thank you, Mama," I say, taking a mozzarella stick and popping it into my mouth.
My grandmother gives me a soft smile as she walks back into the kitchen. Papa turns the TV on and flips it to a cartoon he likes. He's been binge watching it for a few weeks, now. I smile and head to my room with my stuff. We don't have any homework, nor do I have to study anything that I know of, so I just write about my day in my journal. We really didn't do much since it was just the first day. UA is definitely going to be a hard school, though.
The next day, I start walking to school a little bit late. Scratch that, I'm running. I was supposed to leave earlier, but I overslept and my grandmother was the one to wake me up. I'm in class by the time the second bell rings. We go through a normal school day, normal school stuff before lunch and hero work after. During lunch, I somehow end up with the arrogant one, Monoma, and the one who keeps him under control, Kendo. We get some stuff to study and then we're sent home. I think things will be mostly the same for the rest of the year. I see Todoroki on my way home and chat with him for a while before he has to depart. This same pattern goes on for the rest of the week.
All week, what I was most excited about was seeing my mother on Saturday. It's always been the highlight of my week. She's supposed to be released in a few months, which she's happy about. Three years for murder isn't much, but since the person she murdered was a villain, she plead guilty, and she's had good behavior throughout, she's getting released early. What's more is that it isn't impossible for them to put me back into her custody. I'm only living with my grandparents because there's no one closer.
Saturday morning arrives and I eat breakfast quickly, then change into some day clothes. i have to hang out with Papa for a few hours. Mama's at work and I can't go until after noon because that's when visiting hours start. When noon arrives, though, I start running to the prison. It's not within walking distance, but I think it's good exercise. A hero needs to stay in shape. When I arrive, I ask for my mother and they bring me into a room with a few tables and guards at every corner. Some people are already meeting with other prisoners, who are accompanied by a guard. After a few minutes of waiting, a guard brings my mom out in handcuffs. I hug her when she arrives and we sit at the table, across from each other. The guard stands at attention as we start talking.
"Y/N!" she says. "It's so great to see you again."
"Same to you," I say, happily. "How's prison been treating you?"
"Great, I have a lot of fans here," she says, sarcastically. "What about you? I heard you got into UA."
"Yeah, I did! It's really cool there, too! We do training exercises every day."
"And what about your social life? You have any friends?"
"Well, I've been sitting with Kendo and Monoma from my class."
