(Your POV)
The bell rings for lunch and Kendo and I head straight to the cafeteria. They're serving double chocolate cake, but Lunch Rush never makes enough for everyone, so we have to get to it first. The lunch room isn't too crowded by the time we get there, but a line's starting. Kendo and I do manage to get the cake, but almost lose it on the way to our table.
I see Monoma enter the room and get a plate. Kendo and I keep our eyes on him, hoping he doesn't try to harass anyone. To no one's surprise, he heads straight to the table a green-haired little boy and his friends are sitting. Kendo starts walking towards him and I follow her, ready to take him back to our table. Sure enough, he's saying something about the supposed competition our classes have. Without hesitation, Kendo chops his neck, effectively knocking him out, while I catch his tray as he falls. I'm taking his cheese.
Kendo drags Monoma to an empty table and he quickly comes to. He complains about us dragging him away and doesn't even notice me taking all of his cheese and piling it onto my plate. Kendo does, though. She doesn't tell me to give it back, but instead, giggles at me. We don't tell Monoma why. He starts sulking and eating his food while I shovel his cheese into my mouth, then start working on my double chocolate cake.
"Hey, L/N," Kendo speaks out of nowhere. "Tetsutetsu and I are gonna go shopping after school. Wanna tag along?"
"Sure, that sounds like fun," I say, smiling. "Will we be going straight there from school?"
She nods. "We'll be waiting for you at the lockers tomorrow, okay?"
"Alright!" The next bell rings. "Let's get to class, quickly!"
I stand up and put my tray where it belongs, then quickly head to class. Today, we're doing a combat exercise where we go up against one another. Mr. Kan tells us to draw a number and that number is the person we're going up against. I drew 20, so I'm going up against Rin. We go out onto a stadium where Mr. Kan tells us the rules of the battles. It's not a tournament style thing, more of a placement test. I'm the fifth fight, so I have time to make a strategy against Rin. If I were to use my quirk on him, I'd need to break skin. I'm not exactly sure how durable those scales are, but I only need to cut him once. Knocking our opponent out, pushing them off the stadium, or otherwise rendering them immobile or unable to fight is how we can win.
When my turn comes up, I head onto the stage with Rin. Mr. Kan counts us off and I clutch my knife, ready for Rin to try and take the first blow. As expected, he charges towards me to land a punch. He miscalculated terribly because he's aiming directly for my shoulder. I dodge and grab his wrist with my free hand, then bring my knife up to his arm. He pulls his hand away before I can cut him, popping out scales from his skin to protect himself. He then shoots his scales at me, so I duck down to dodge them, popping up quickly and charging at him with my knife brandished. He dodges, thinking my intentions were to use the knife on him, and falls into my trap. I drop down and sweep kick him, then pin him to the ground. I smile, bringing the knife to his shoulder, pressing it in just enough to cut him if he tries to escape.
He has two options, now: walk off the stage or tap out now. I try not to look too menacing or villainous while I hold him down. We stare at each other for a few minutes before he tries rolling out from under me, which cuts him. The scent of his blood wafts to my nose, making me feel just a little bit nauseous. He doesn't realize he's bleeding, so he tries to attack once again, but he's stopped when strings of blood pull back on him. With an accomplished smirk, I direct him out of bounds and let him go. He lets out a defeated groan as he slumps to the ground.
The last five battles go as you would expect. In the end, Mr. Kan gives us our evaluations. I got 87 points out of 100 with the note that I rely too much on my quirk to win. So next time, I should try using sheer force next time. We head back to the classroom and Mr. Kan tells us what we could do better. He then starts a lecture, which I take notes to, intently. After about half an hour, we end class and we're allowed to loiter around for a while before we're dismissed to go home. I shoot my grandparents a quick text that I won't be coming home any time soon. Then, Kendo and Tetsutetsu bound over to me with large smiles on their faces.
"Hey, dude!" Tetsutestu says, slinging his arm around my shoulder. "Thanks for hanging out with us!"
"Uh, yeah, Kendo's my friend, so why wouldn't I?" I joke.
"But not me?" He complains.
"We never talked, Tetsutetsu," I respond.
"Thanks for tagging along," Kendo says, lugging her bag over her shoulder. "We have to leave right at the bell, so get ready."
"For what?" I ask, but get no answer. They dart out the classroom as soon as the bell rings, not even waiting for me.
I grab my bag and run out the classroom after them. I manage to catch up with them, but they are definitely not going to wait for me. They aren't waiting for each other, either. When we arrive at the train station, bent over and trying to catch our breath, Kendo watches for the train while Tetsutetsu goes to grab a few sandwiches. I feel my phone buzz and I take it out of my pocket. I have a text from Todoroki: "I'm waiting for you."
Y/N: "I already left."
Tododoki: "I thought we were walking home together."
Y/N: "I went out with friends today."
Tododoki: "Where?"
Y/N: "Doesn't matter. I'll walk home with you tomorrow. Promise."
Tododoki: "Don't break it."
"Hey, Tetsutetsu, L/N come on!" Kendo shouts, almost making me drop my phone.
"Coming," Tetsutetsu says, dashing to the train as it hisses to a stop.
I shove my phone in my pocket and the train doors open to let other passengers off. Tetsutetsu hands out our sandwiches, then we board the train. The train is cleaner than I thought it'd be. Kendo sits next to Tetsutetsu and I stand. The train stops a few minutes later and Kendo and Tetsutetsu drag me off and to the mall, where a crowd of people are gathered around a Cold Subject. Kendo and Tetsutetsu cheer and push their way through the crowd, reaching for a limited edition shirt with the top five pro heroes on it. It's so loud I don't think I'll be able to hear after this. We manage to grab three shirts of our own sizes and pay for them, then bolt, panting heavily.
With that done, Kendo and Tetsutetsu take me window shopping. We blew all of our money on those shirts, so we can't really get anything else. After a few hours, we part ways and start going home. I had fun. When I got home, I sat on my bed, smiling brightly, and check my phone. I don't have any texts or missed calls. So I lay down and spread my arms out. It's not dark yet, but I'm feeling extremely tired. I fall asleep quickly.
