Our Phoenix Love

Chapter 1

Sitting and feeling the cool water brush against my  feet  while having the warm sand beneath my fingers was  exactly what I  needed  a break from reality , to sit and  reflect on life.  I really enjoyed being outside especially  on the beach, this was truly my happy place. My chain of thoughts were interrupted by my phone ringing. I saw my  bestfriend Thalia name pop up so I  answered the call right away.
Thalia and I  have been bestfriend for about three years now we met at  our highschool through mutual friends. You would think being a year apart in age would affect our friendship but it hasn't. 

"Hey babe." I greeted her as she rolls her eyes at the word Babe.

"Hey K ,how's the break going ?" She asked.

The break she is referring to is our Christmas holiday. We finally  get the break from all the tiring school assignments and test,God knows we needed it.  Currently  Thalia was visiting her grandparents in the country so  we are  apart but distance never stopped our friendship nothing  a good phone call can't solve.

"It's good, here on the beach we can come here when you get back from country , you will love it ." I told her with excitement no one loves the beach more than Thalia so this would be the prefect spot for us to hang out . She proceeds to give me the run down of her day and time in the  country.

"So I met a guy." She stated she saw the shock expression on  my face and continues her statement.

" Not exactly met when we were driving through the town I was staring out the window and  I saw this guy he had curly black hair and blue eyes he looked really handsome , so being my random self  I waved at him while we drove passed him and his friends. " 

I laughed at her statement " Not you  being random, suppose you meet him again what will you do?"

" I won't meet him again it was just a one time  more and likely he's just visiting  the island, even if he stays  his chances of coming  into the city are low so he is a thing of the past now. "She says being extremely  confident in her statement.

"Anyways I'll talk to you later , mom's ready so we are leaving. Love you"  We bid our farewells and I left  the beach and went home.
A week later just as promised Thalia and I  visited the same beach I went to last week.
Seeing that Thalia just came back from the country we were due for a hang out. Currently we were sitting on the beaches on the beach having lunch.

"So guess what happened."  Thalia asked before taking a bite of her chicken sandwich.

"What happened now ?" I answered intrigued as to where this conversation is going.

" You remember  the American guy I told you I waved to while I was at country."

"Ye the one you swore you wouldn't see again." I said while stealing some of her fries.

"Well I talked way too early , yesterday while I was at the supermarket near my house I glimpsed him with an older lady assuming it was his mom  and of course I got nervous and hid but being clumsy knocked over some cans which brought them to my attention." She pauses to drink her juice.

While I started laughing at her predicament because she swore she wouldn't  have seen him again and look at life being a comedian and proving her wrong.

"So he then comes over to my assistance and  helps me up , the lady I assumed was his mom is  his grandmother.He then introduces himself to me and tells his grandmother how  we met. Apparently she lives a couple houses from my house  but of course I didn't tell them where exactly. So thinking that this would be the last time I would see him again I was wrong  later in the day I'm outside my house and the same blue eyes greets my attention."

By now I stopped eating and my full attention was on Thalia and her encounter with Mr Blue Eyes. " So what's his name ?"

" Oh yes." Remembering she forgot to mention  that "His name is Dominic  , he's around 17 and  he's visiting his grandmother for the year at this point it looks like he'll be  in my life for  the next couple of months." She stated in a fake happy tone.

"Ouu new boyfriend. " I said laughing

" Umm no more like a new friend maybe  anyways he invited me to this party at a  dance studio Saturday coming. If you didn't have that dinner to go to you could have come ." She stated while finishing her food.

" Ye it sucks  but I know you will fill me in on what happens." I tell her  while finishing  my food as well.

We enjoyed the rest of the day hanging out and filling each other  on what we both missed out in each others life. I was happy for her meeting a new friend but I wondered what exactly would happen if I was in her position.
