Origami Wings & Paper Hearts

Chapter 1

Yahiko Pov-
I felt my eyes flicker, my muscles tense as I laid on a bed of origami roses. Feeling slowly coming back to me.
As soon as I had control and awareness over my body, I sat up.
I felt slightly uneven as I stood up, looking at my hands miraculously.

I'm.. Alive.

I was unsure if I was supposed to feel wary, or immensely appreciative.

If I didn't have emotions, I would still have a lot going on mentally.

I'm alive. But how? Why am I back here. Do I have a purpose I need to fulfil?

I was pulled from my thoughts as i noticed motion to my left.

Konan

i watched as she sleepily shook her head and brushed back her indigo hair. Still with a origami flower in it, pulled back in a bun as always.

Nagato was missing. I gently brushed her hair from her eyes as she opened eyes slowly in a amazed shock.

"Yahiko.."
She whispered.

Konan Pov-

"Yahiko.."
I whispered in a amazed shock.

Was this real? Is this truly Yahiko in front of me?

"Konan, how come I am alive?"

I blinked. That moment was over too quick for me.

"I'm not sure. I died at the hands of an Uchiha named Obito, he was me and Nagato's leader of the Akatsuki behind the scenes."

" Oh, so the Akatsuki is still going huh!" he grinned.

I frowned, how was I going to explain this to him?

"Not particularly, when you died, Nagato became the leader, however, he wanted a world of peace.." I winced as I heard my voice falter.

"What's wrong with peace? That's the Akatsuki purpose. To bring peace!"

"Yes," I hesitated before telling him about Nagato's point of view of peace, and how the organization turned bitter.

"He is the bridge to peace. And I am a pillar to support him.. Naruto Uzamaki."

"Uzamaki? Is he related to Nagato?"

"I believe so."

"hmm."

Yahiko looked heavily disappointed in the occurred events, but slightly happy when I told him about Naruto.

I winced slightly when she saw his frustration at the current state of the shinobi world.

"Well, where's Nagato now? How come he isn't here with us? You said he died right?"

"He's been brought back using the forbidden reinannimation  jutsu by it's caster Kabuto Yakushi.

"And who is this Kabuto Yakushi? Did he use that reinannimation jutsu on us? Is that why we're here?"
"No, we are here because of a different cause.
Kabuto Yakushi was an orphaned boy at young age who took the influence and sought power under  Orochimaru."

" So he's like us. Orphaned at young age and taught by one of the legendary 3 sannin.
Yahiko murmured.

"Yes."

Yahiko frowned.

"I-I'm glad were back together.." I said hopefully.
"Me too."
A fold of silence fell before Yahiko set in his statement.
"We need to hear to the Hidden Rain village, I take it that salamander is no longer alive and that the village is without protection and leadership. We'll take our position from their and focus on growing Amegakure in industrializing and support the Allies in the 4th great shinobi war." He finished.

I inwardly sighed, Yahiko hadn't changed since his death date. Always getting down to business.

"Why don't we just, run away. No one knows who we are. We can just wait till the wars over, no involvement with such violence. I won't have to worry about losing you again.."

Yahiko turned sharply towards me.

"And just let innocent people die? What about the children that may be orphaned like we were! I thought we were friends because we both believed in peace and making sure no one had to go through what we did! That was, selfish Konan. A word I never thought could be used to describe you."

I stepped back, deeply hurt that he would suggest such a thing.

"Of course I don't want people to die- but this is war Yahiko, we lived through one-" My voice cut off suddenly when I saw Yahiko's gaze harden.

"I'm going to do something about this. It isn't in my belief to let everyone else to do the work while I lounge around. If your coming, well, just follow."

He said as he walked out on me.
I felt hot tears fall from my eyes, and a clutching feeling on my heart as I watched Yahiko go.

"I will follow you, I will be the fern for your dove, as long as you will be my origami wings, as long as you keep my paper heart beating. Yahiko"
