Chapter 1

Desiree POV, Escaping the Baby Shower

I drove away in my black Subaru after hearing what I had just heard what Prince Alexander said. Some witch hunters are after us, and now there is a vampire claiming me as his Bride. How he said it was so sexist that it wasn't funny. I recognized him from Alanza's wedding, and he kept staring at me. I do not like being stared at by any guy nor do I like being the center of attention. As soon as I arrived at my apartment building, I parked my car, and ran my big butt inside my apartment. Luckily, I didn't sense any evil nor did I sense any danger. Once I went inside my apartment, my phone rang, and my dad's caller ID made me sigh in relief. Here is how it went:

Dad: Ki kote ou te ale, douse? (Where did you go, sweetness?)

Me: I ran home and I am fine. Is everyone alright? I had to give the vampire a slip, that was so unromantic!

Dad: Nou anfom, douse! (We are fine, sweetness!)

Me: I shouldn't have run, I am sorry about that! I will try to talk to this guy when I get the chance!

Li se byen si ou se nan princes ti kras arogan. (He is coming to you now as we speak. Apparently, he took the time to learn about you. He even took the time to meet his Bride's family. He is alright if you are into arrogant little princes.)

Me: I need more than a cute face and a big bank account.

We talked for a bit, said our goodbyes, and hung up. My father is mahogany-skinned, emerald green-eyed, 6'4, built like a linebacker and successful plastic surgeon. My Haitian-American father, Remi Dorval, can speak perfect English, he just likes reverting to his native languages. My dad is 50, but looks 35 with graying hair, he and my 31-year-old brother Louis could be twins. He married my Afro-Puerto Rican bruja mom who is a corporate lawyer.

Louis is smart, funny, snarky, with a huge ego. The psychiatrist has a vampiric wife and child, Lisa and Samuel. Lisa reminds you of Naomi Campbell, but is bubbly, sweet, and quirky. She looks like she is 24, but is really 70. Lisa is an internet personality, on a website that caters to supernaturals. The couple have been married for four years and have 3-year-old Samuel. Sammy looks like a combination of both of his parents, and acts like his dad.

My identical twin sister Lovelie is a hair stylist and salon owner. She is girly, creative, loud, and outspoken like mom. We took after our mother in looks, but Lovelie is more like mom. Lovelie is married to a 30-year-old, 6'10 demon Abe and has a two-year-old daughter named Nadia. The football coaching teacher has been married to my little sister for 3 years, and we love the mountain of a man. He is like a teddy bear with horns.

Anyway, my mom and siblings sent me texts telling me to be careful. I spotted my roommate and best friend Savannah asleep in front of the TV, cuddling her asleep demonic girlfriend Tony. Savannah O'Brien is a black Irish green witch with no hint of Voodoo in her. We met at magic school, or should I say coven when we were children. The freckled, ginger-haired 25-year-old is a botanist and a damned good one. She was raised as by both her grandmothers whom passed away 5 years ago. The bisexual witch with is currently and madly in love with the brunette she is wrapped around. Tony has bat wings and a tail, is a Gamma female and a nail technician. She wants to marry Savannah, but wants to propose at the right time. There is a knock at the door, I have a vision of Prince Alexander and Emica behind the door. I walked over to the door and opened it.
