It had been three days since Yuki and I spoke about his depression. Yesterday he had his first appointment with his therapist and he told me it went well. The therapist also asked Yuki to give me a few papers that had information regarding what I could do to help Yuki and better understand what he was going through.
Hiiragi and Shizusumi also received a copy of the papers from the therapist. Yuki thought it would be best for them to know what happened as they were close friends to Yuki too. I supported his decision as it was his business to tell.
Yuki hasn't stopped teasing me about making a friend as I promised I would.
It was now Wednesday and I was currently making my way towards the vending machine after buying some sweet cream bread from the cafeteria.
"Hey are you busy right now?" A boy with caramel hair asks.
Mafuyu looks at the boy who seemed to be in need of something? Maybe he needed help with an assignment?
"Not really?" Mafuyu answers causing the boy to smile.
"Ryuu! He's going to play basketball with us!" The boy paused before flashing a smile. "That's Ryuu and I am Shogo."
"Nice to meet you. I'm Mafuyu."
Mafuyu wasn't able to think too hard about what was unfolding before him as the two guys escorted him to the basketball court. It was the same one he'd occasionally pass by on his way to the stairwell to nap in. Maybe that's why Shogo decided to approach him.
"Are you sure you're alright with playing basketball with us? Shogo tends to get overly excited so I apologize if you feel pressured by him." Ryuu spoke as they placed down their jackets on the floor away from the main court.
"It's alright." Mafuyu answered as he didn't think it was a bad idea.
This could be a great opportunity for him to make friends as Yuki had encouraged him to do so. And judging by their appearances and how they carried themselves neither of the two seemed to be bad people.
In no time Mafuyu began to enjoy the game as he, Ryuu, and Shogo played against another team of four guys. Appealingly they would play everyday during lunch for fun, occasionally making bets where the losers would buy the winners a drink.
The first game they played ended up inspiring everyone to play two more as Ryuu's team was putting up quite the fight as they were leading by seven points.
The game finally ended and Mafuyu was praised for his beautiful three-pointers. They didn't know he was good at basketball as he always kept to himself all this time.
"Mafuyu are you going to play with us everyday? It was really fun. Wasn't it Ryuu?" Shogo asked as his eyes beamed with happiness.
Mafuyu nodded his head as it was the first time he felt slight happiness in having someone admit to enjoying his company.
"I don't mind joining you from now on. It was fun playing with you guys." Mafuyu's direct words caused Ryuu and Shogo to blush slightly before they laughed it off.
The three of them walked to where their classrooms were located and as they did so they passed by another guy. His dark black hair and blue eyes caught Mafuyu's for a split second as he felt as though he recognized him from somewhere.
"Uenoyama you better play basketball with us tomorrow!" Shogo shouted as the man walked away.
Mafuyu soon found himself at his desk, thinking about tomorrow's basketball game. Would he be playing the same guys or would he form a different team with Ryuu and Shogo as his opponents?
