Cheating with a Twist

Eddy put on his Vans shoes and went out for coffee. He had finally finished a part of his TwoSetViolin video editing, and now some coffee to relax a bit.

"A warm cup of latte please," he said to the coffee maker, "I'll take it away, thank you."

After a few minutes, the coffee was brewed. "Thank you, keep the change." He gave the coffee maker the bill and headed to home, back for another video editing again.

Someone had opened the lights in Eddy's house.

Oh Brett, enjoying yourself huh, Eddy chuckled to himself.

But when he opened the door, he saw Brett and a girl sitting together on a sofa and watching the movie F.R.I.E.N.D.S. on Netflix. They were sharing the same popcorn as well.

The first thing that came to Eddy's mind was girlfriend.

"Brett! Who's this?!" Eddy shouted, loud enough to make Brett jump from the couch.

"Eddy, it's not- it's not what you think. She's just my-"

"Tell her to get out! Now!" Eddy shouted angrily.

The girl stood up from the couch. Tall and skinny with blonde hair, black crop top and a cute miniskirt. Red lips and long eyelashes. What was Brett thinking?

"I'm sorry Brett, I guess I'll see you tomorrow, yeah?"

"Sure, of course. Bye and take care," Brett waved at her and she left.

"What the fuck Brett?" Eddy spat and he put his coffee on the kitchen counter.

"Eddy, I'm sorry, it's not-"

"You don't have to explain. You fucking cheated."

"I didn't, Eddy, listen to me!" Brett raised his voice.

"Let's break up," Eddy said coldly. "I thought you were the one. I thought you were a cute loyal marshmallow, but I was wrong. I am so stupid. I'm so stupid for choosing you as my boyfriend."

Brett's heart shattered and he started to cry. "Eddy, no, please. Don't break up with me, please. You don't know how much I love you."

"Do whatever you want. I'm not changing my mind. Thanks for hurting my heart." He stomped in his room outraged, and tears dropped from his eyes. Brett, the cute fluffy marshmallow whom he dated for a long time had just cheated. No explanation was needed.

Even at night, Eddy was still in his room. Brett was worried and he really wanted to talk to Eddy.

He knocked on the door and managed to squeak "Eddy?"

There was no answer.

So Brett went in, and he saw Eddy bawling.

Eddy's legs were hugged to his chest, eyes red and puffy, his shoulders shook as he wept.

"Eddy, please don't cry..." Brett sat down and hugged Eddy, but Eddy pushed away.

"Don't talk to me, I hate you." Words came hoarsely from his mouth.

"Eddy, I'll love you no matter what and I never will cheat. I'm not a cheater, I'm not a player."

"BUT YOU FUCKING DID," Eddy suddenly screamed loudly at Brett.

"Eddy, no, I didn't. You don't even know her yet. That girl is just my cousin."

Brett's cousin? I haven't thought of this...

Brett continued on, "She's just my cousin, Katie, from New Zealand, so that's why you haven't seen her yet. She just arrived here yesterday for a break and she wanted to meet me today. We decided to watch a movie together because she's busy working. Besides, wearing a crop top and a miniskirt doesn't mean she's my girlfriend or she's trying to get me. Katie planned to meet her boyfriend for dinner after the movie, so that's why. Here's the proof in case if you don't believe me."

Brett showed Eddy his text conversations with Katie.

"I-I'm sorry Brett, I should've known..." Eddy stared at the ground and bit his lip in embarrassment, "I'm sorry I kicked her out as well and I made you cry."

"It's alright mate, it's not a problem. Perhaps you'll want to give her a call later for apologising. Remember that I'll always love you and I'll never cheat, okay?"

"Sure, I will. Thanks for forgiving me, Brett. I love you."
