5- The Hallway Encounter

The reason why the usual walk on the hallway to the classrooms was not as the same as the other ones was because Althea saw Cygnus sitting with Druella. And it seemed like they were enjoying each other's company!

"It was expected to see something like this happening, wasn't it Al?" said Celestia. She was right and Althea knew it. The Black and Rosier families has been planning this union for a while now and she was aware of it. But she still had hope since both Cygnus and Druella were against this relationship. Althea didn't know what they had against each other. She didn't really care. She was only glad about it because that meant this planned union was not another obstacle on her way to Cygnus's heart.

"Ah, Al. I've said it before and I'll say it again, there's plenty of fish in the sea. You only haven't caught the crispy one yet." said Bernard, Agnes's older brother, coming between Althea and Celestia, playfully bumping into each of them with his shoulders.

Agnes let out a loud chuckle, "Ha! I like that one! You mean that Cygnus is not a crispy fish, right? As in he is not a decent fella..."

"Well, that would be right, if Al did actually catch him but..." teased Bernard. Althea's expression changed from sad into mad... With the realisation of the danger he's in, Bernard took shelter behind Celestia.

While struggling to reaching him, Althea declared, "You haven't caught any yourself!"

"It's because I don't fancy any!" claimed Bernard after a little glimpse of hesitation. Althea realised that there was something he was hiding. She narrowed her eyes and gave a questioning look. But then she decided to let him be, since she was hiding some things herself. "If you say so..."

Althea heard Agnes letting out a troubled sigh, "Here he comes..." Looking at the direction Agnes's glance was at, Althea saw Abraxas Malfoy and two other Slytherin boys rushing toward them. "Didn't think nor wish he'd recover this soon." said Althea.

"There they are, the insolent stupid Hufflepuff girls! Don't even dare think you will get away so easily from what you've done. I will gladly do the justice Professor Dippet couldn't." snarled Abraxas.

Althea and her friends stood their ground, not getting scared of the aggressive Slytherin boys, knowing that they wouldn't dare do anything to them in the crowded hallways of Hogwarts.

"Hey! I thought I was in the gang, too!" mumbled Bernard playfully.

"And you are!" affirmed Althea, then turned to Abraxas "Oh, don't worry about it, Malfoy.", she said with a fake concern on her voice, "Surely Bernard will forgive this small mistake of yours."

"However, the mistake of you existing is unfortunately not only for him forgive, nor is it easy to do so!" stated Agnes.

From the look on his face it was clear that Abraxas was very offended. His face even turned red. He was definitely holding himself very hard from not hexing them. "You're going to regret this!", he cautioned between his teeth.

"Yeah, I'm still waiting for that day you're always talking about." mocked Althea.

Abraxas got closer, "It won't take long, Cattermole. I bet you won't even survive the first year." he said self-assuredly before aggressively walking away from them with his backups following him.

Looking behind them, Althea and her friends couldn't make sense of what Abraxas just said. What first year? They are in the sixth year for Merlin's sake!

Well, a person with a decent mind wouldn't take what Abraxas says seriously. And that was exactly what Althea did.

I know this chapter was not long, I'm sorry. I feel great responsibility for writing more because I know it's no fun waiting for new chapters. But, I also have school...
