Chapter 9 - One Best Life

Today we went to a funfair held in the city next to Atlanta. I have no idea why Maya does this even though it's not a holiday. Maybe it's a way to find her happiness or something, or she wants to find a boyfriend here. But if I saw one that fits her, I'm going to do the same I did to Kenji too.

Maya walks over the ice cream truck and through the bicycle. She stops behind a man with a jacket and blonde hair. As I stand beside her, I begin to notice that her sweaty smell comes out. I glance at that guy who is trying his luck at the lottery. He looks a lot like Christ when he looks from behind, but I haven't seen his face from here yet. Or maybe it's Christ so that Maya looks at him with nervousness.

Quickly, I leave Maya behind and run to that guy. Probably it can rent her a boyfriend too. Or maybe buy it with less than bucks.

"Oh, Hey! Hey!!" Again, she tries to pull me so that I don't mess with that guy. Next time don't eat so fat.

I touch him in his ass while moving to the other side, leaving Maya behind him. Everyone beside us, behind us, even the shopkeeper in front of us pays attention to us.
"Whoa!" He shouted surprised.

"I'm sorry, my sister has been acting weird since this morning." She said while pushing a hair clip to my hair.
"No, it's okay." That guy I didn't notice answers her.
"Come on, let's go." She said to me while going to the other side.

That guy in curious looks back at us as we are going further. At first, he smiles with confusion, but as he sees Maya pass by in front of him, I bet his heart starts pounding hardly.
"Hey." He called Maya while looking at me. Then he stares at Maya again. "What a minute..."
"Oh, hey..." Maya replies to him.
"You-you uh... You and I both have, uh, professor Benjamin." He asks Maya in another way.
"Right. Yeah..." Maya answers him.
"Yeah, wow." He answers him.
"It's cool."
"I understand..."

Maya was talking but I didn't listen. All my attention is dragged to a guy on that roller coaster platform. He is a combination between hot and cool. His jeans are very attractive, and here my sweat flows off my knee pit and neck.

"So she's like acting crazy around you. Isn't she?"
"Oh, so she's the one who felt up my butt before?"
"Yeah..."

Due to that coincidence, we started seeing Christ all the time. Sometimes his sibling also follows him on his side. My face is very red while walking beside him, I wanted him to see me but he didn't. For some reason, he always looks to the other side while I'm paying attention to him. In the end, I spend my time glancing at him.

Night after night, Maya and all her sisters sleep together in Christ's house. But his brother has never visited us while sleeping with us too. I'm just a little bit jealous to see Maya and Christ sleeping together on one sofa while leaving the TV on every night. And everything ended up fixed by me. When they start hugging each other, I know they are too cold and fight all over each other's body warm. Soon, I take Maya's blanket out of her luggage and cover both of them while sleeping in this room that is very cold. I want to shut the air conditioner, but at midnight it will get hotter.

On the seventh day, Christ's younger brother, who is three years older than me, finally visits our house. There is no doubt that we wear a very beautiful fashion set today. I refused to wear party clothes but everyone forced me to do it. Then I have to.

Christ's younger brother is Kenny. I asked that to Maya and she answered me while eating the cake. My three sisters and I sat on the stairs of her house while enjoying the breeze of the aircon. But my mind instantly cleared as I saw Kenny pass by. He stopped right at that spot while looking at the wall magazine that hung all of us. then I thought, do you know what I'm thinking right now? What a shame there is no answer. He doesn't even give a glance right at me. He just looked at me for a while and gave me the best regards of him while walking down the stairs.
