Chapter 5
(Cody's POV)
She's been on my mind .Yes how cheesy I know. Using one of my titles to describe her. I don't like her. I mean that way. I've only known her for a couple days maybe take her surfing and see if that determines my feelings..
"Cody" Matt , my manager yelled as I was deep in thought. "Yeah" I yelled back at him my voice carrying through the tour bus.
Matt came to the back of the tour bus and stood in front of me. I sighed and locked my phone throwing it on the couch. "Whats up" I asked him. "You need a girl for the video to serenade to" he simply said. "I pick? " I asked.
"Yep" . "That's a first" I mumbled. "What"? He asked.
"Nothing" I told him. "But you just-" Matt began. "Silence" I yelled. "Aussie God" Matt returned. We have little skits and inside jokes together.
Who can I have in the video. Of course I know a lot of girls. I would call a friend from Australia but it would be too complicated. Who's here, right now. No. No.No. Nope. Of course this is just great it has to be her doesn't it.
Oh Sadie.
(Sadie's POV)
"But Mom"!!! I yelled arguing with my mother. "No Sadie I told you you can't go" my mom returned. "Why"? I asked getting more frustrated. "Cause you have to babysit and you're not old enough". I"ll show her who's not old enough. "We know plenty of people around here who are capable of babysitting why can't they" I yelled back. "Becas-" my mom began getting curt off by a hesitated knock on the door. "Are you gonna get that"? my mom asked. I sighed and rolled my eyes turning the door knob. To my surprise it was..... GEORGE CLOONEY... Hahah my mom wishes....
It was Cody.
"Hi.. Um.." Cody began and scratched his head nervously. I've never seen him like this it was almost laughable. "Go on with this I don't have all day" I began. I looked back to see my mom watching us. "Mom.. Privacy" I told her. She slipped away in her room. Knowing her she was probably ease dropping. I turned my action back to Cody.
" I ah.. need someone to be in my new video" He told me. I burst out in laughter. "Why were you so nervous to ask me"? "So you'll do it"? He asked. "Oh God no" I told him. "Come on Sadie you're the only one I know around here to do it" he begged tugging at me hands. " No Cody I'm not getting involved in your fame, plus your fans will plot out my murder" I told him. "They're not that bad" he told me.
"Goodbye Cody" I said beginning to close the door. He stopped it. "Please Sadie I will never ask for anything ever again" he told me looking really stressed. "No" I said probably sounding cold and heartless I closed the door walking back towards my room. "Sadie, do the music video with him"my mom shouted at me. I sighed and dragged my feet to the door. I opened it to find Cody still there. Should have known he wouldn't give up. That Aussie doesn't quit on anything, does he.
"Fine I"ll do it" I told him.
"YEE thank you sadie" he yelled pulling me in for a hug. I was hesitant at first but then settled. If he tries to pull any mojo this time. His "Aussie Swag" will be gone.. Forever.
I can't have what happened last time repeat itself. I never opened up before like that. I certainly didn't like the idea that I felt like I could that with him. "Shooting starts today let's go" he pulled me. "What"? I asked. " I have to babysit, my moms leaving now, I look like I just rolled out of bed" I told him." You look fine, they have makeup and stuff there". "Wow Cody thanks, just what every girl wants to hear" I rolled my eyes. "Just let me get my annoying sister" I told him. I ran back in the apartment and got her. "Let's goo"I yelled after a few minuets. "I have to go Bye, Sadie and.. " my mom questioned pointing at Cody. "Cody Simpson" He told her. She was surprised. "Sadie was this the one on the lunchbox we bought" my mom asked."Yes mom " I replied. "I thought you didn't like him"she said aloud. "Shh mom he's right here" I told her. " Oh well I'm Mrs. Anderson, Sadie's mom" she smiled lending her hand out. "Pleasure" Cody said shaking her hand. " Well I would loved to stay but I have to go, bye Sadie, bye Emma and nice meeting you Cody" she said leaving. "You too" Cody yelled back as she closed the door.
"Didn't like me huh"? He asked. "Uh-uh" ." Come on we all knew that lunchbox was for you" Cody said. I smiled.
"Emma let's go" I hurried my little sister. "Hold On Sadie" she yelled back. After waiting a few seconds she appeared.
"Who's the, wait that Cody's Simpson" she said pointing to Cody, she dropped her stuff and ran to hug him. Almost knocking him over. "I didn't know you liked him"I asked confused. "Of course I do, hey you bought me one of his CD's for my birthday last year" Emma said. "What, that was Cody, I thought that was Justin Bieber" I asked confused. "Sadie, Cody looks and sounds nothin like Justin, I hate when people compared them, sheesh " Emma whined.
"Thank you" Cody said, Agreeing with Emma. "Well excuse me" I said grabbing my purse and keys.
"Let's go Aussie and Aussie fan" I said letting them go through the door and then locking it.
We were almost down by the set. They better have a good makeup artist cause I look like someone ran me over I can't even believe Cody saw me like this. What if he tweets a picture of me looking like this? He better not.
"So what do I have to do in this music video"? I asked Cody. "Act pretty" he told me. "Act"? I asked, the sun blinding my eye sight. "Oh sorry I didn't mean that" Cody tried to save himself. "That's twice you've insulted me today, you better rethink out little friendship here" I said. Cody chuckled.
We arrived. Bring it.
I got all y makeup done and my outfit. Emma sat down coloring with Alli, Cody's sister who I have yet to meet. Though it looks like their having a blast. I smiled at them when a knock on the door came. "Sadie we need you out here now" a man wearing headphones told me. I nodded and took one last look in the mirror. This better work out. I'm terrified.
(Cody's POV)
We finished shooting the first half of the video. Sadie kept laughing at the way I was dancing and serenading to her so we had to do a couple of takes before it smoothly sailed.
I don't know if she was laughing at me or the way I did stuff. Overall though I made the right choice. It was really fun. I'm actually looking forward to shooting the rest of the video. I went to get changed and back to Sadie's trailer. "Sadie can I come in"? He asked. "Um.. Yeah" she replied. "Good we don't need to repeat what happened last time" I said closing the door behind me.
"What happened last time" Alli asked. Sadie chuckled. "Nothing" I blushed. "Your brother walked in on my in the fitting room at the mall" Sadie said. Alli laughed and playfully punched me in the shoulder.
"I don't believe we officially met, Alli Cody's little sis as you know" Alli said putting her hand out for Sadie to shake. "Sadie. By the way you're really pretty" Sadie said shaking her hand. "Must run in the family" Emma yelled from the couch. Sadie chuckled. I told Alli I'd see her back at the hotel or the tour bus later and walked Sadie and her sister home.
We had stop for a slice of pizza and it began to rain. My luck. Sadie and Emma had a coat though so no big deal only for me it was. It started to pour. So we ran to her apartment laughing along the way. We arrived at her apartment. Her sister passed us and went inside to change. Sadie laughed. "You're so wet, Cody do you need to go inside to get dry, you could have wormed my sweatshirt or something" she said. "No ,it's fine" I told her. Sadie smiled. I looked at her into her eyes being captured by them. Oh no time for another song to be written. She looked into mine. I grew closer to her and she did as well. She looked from my eyes to my lips having the same thought I did. I could feel her steady hot breathe on my lips, almost... Just one more inch...
"Sadie" Emma opened the door. Sadie turned to look at her. I cleared my throat. Emma closed the door. " I...a got to go bye thank you" . she hurried along. What the hell was I doing here?
