Damon's POV

I slide out of bed as I hear pounding on the front door. I check the time and see its 5:00a.m. Elena is asleep on the bed so I'm careful not to wake her.

I walk downstairs, still pretty sleepy. The pounding on the door grows more persistent. "I'm coming, I'm coming!" I groan, releasing a yawn. I stand still in front of the door, my body growing cold. I can sense someone I know on the other side.

"Open the door, Damon, or I will." A vaguely familiar voice hisses.

I open it, a scowl stretching across my face. "Elijah of the originals clan. Long time no see."

"I'm not here to amuse you, damon." He says coldly, his British accent thicker than ever.

"So what are you here for, good klaus?"

Elijah keeps a straight face. "Elena-"

"Hey, hey, thats not an option." I interrupt him quickly.

"I understand you're protective over her but if you would be so kind to let me finish speaking." He says surprisingly calmly. Elijah was always one for composure. "You need to come back to New Orleans with me, now."

"What?"

"You all really thought the witches wouldn't be able to locate Elena? They've been researching her life for the past couple months. Stalker like if I must say. I tried to direct them wrongly but they figured out what I was doing. They discovered that you're the key. Once they find you, they find elena. The most powerful witches are hiding out in New Orleans."

I take a moment to process. "So what's the plan if I go there?"

Elijah grins slightly. "I have a witch friend that is able to reverse the vampire curse."

My jaw drops. "You're lying."

"Damon, have I ever been one to lie? I'm afraid you're confusing me with my brother, klaus." He says. "The reversal ritual is a secret that my family has been keeping all these years. Or we simply had no need in mentioning it. The ritual is very simple to be frank. I'm surprised no one has figured it out over the years. Or if they did, they didn't care to share it."

"What's the secret?"

"Witches can bring people back from the dead. Vampires are dead. Simply do the revival ritual and the vampire curse is gone."

My eyes widen from shock. I can't believe we could have never figured out something so difficult that was actually unbelievably simple. All those months spent fighting over the cure. "I just have one question." I say. Elijah raises an eyebrow. "Why are you doing this for her?"

Elijah smiles a little. "I've done wrong doings most of my life. I need to take care not to be anything similar to my brother. I must start earning a little good karma from the universe anyway."

"Alright, sounds true enough." I say. "So when do we leave."

"Right now."

<Elena's POV>

I wake softly, and I reach over to touch damon. Nothing. I reach out further, deciding to stretch out my arms and legs. I sigh from the comfort. I open my eyes finally and look at the empty space next to me on the bed. Damon's bed. I cock my head to the side, confused. "Damon?" I ask nothing. I sit up and lean against the headboard of the bed. I sigh.

I slide out of the bed, and make my way downstairs. Feeling hungry, I grab a blood bag from the fridge. I gulp it down it an instant, feeling satisfied when it's finished. I pull out my cell phone and find Damon's contact. I dial his number.

Ring, ring, ring, no answer. I groan. I call again. No answer. Giving up, I decide to just leave a voicemail. "Damon, its me. Call me back when you can..bye." I say awkwardly. I end the voicemail.

Memories of my life suddenly rush back and I feel my mind growing larger and stronger. It feels good to have the lost parts of myself rush back with full force. I sigh from the endorphin rush. It eventually comes to an end, and I feel unsteady. I run-- though it doesn't feel like I'm in control of myself, towards the kitchen. I open up the drawer and pick up a butchers knife. I stab myself in my wrist and release a blood-curdling scream. Pain engulfs my hand and I can't bring myself to lift the knife. I know for a fact by now, my actions are being controlled, as they had been before.

I try to resist anymore of this puppet-like compulsion, but it's near impossible. All of a sudden, I can't feel my legs, or arms and I'm paralyzed. I fall too the floor. My wrist is still bloody and in pain.

My legs begin moving, though I cannot feel them. I cry out in angst. "NO!" I'm walking out the front door and now into my car.

Oh no. Not again with cars.

Damon's POV

"If that wasn't the most uncomfortable drive in all my lifetime I don't know what is." I say right as we step out of the car.

"Here we are, Damon. New Orleans." He says. "There's been a lot of drama going on here that I'd rather not drag you into."

"Fine with me."

Elijah leads me into this apartment building. Its old and dusty. Ancient looking, to be honest. A girl who can't be more than sixteen greets me. I get the feeling shes been through far too traumatic events for her age. "I'm Davina." She says. "This ritual should be quick and easy." She says calmly. She looks around. "So where's the vampire girl?"

I look at Elijah with the most unnerved look I can conjure.

"You never said the spell required her to actually be here" Elijah says to Davina.

"Well I am doing a revival ritual. Its basically implied." She seems annoyed. She directs her attention towards me. "You're Damon Salvatore. I've heard a lot about you."

"Davina, please do try to stay focused."

"Didn't know a serial killer could be so much of a hunk." She says. I give her a tight smile. I rub her head playfully, messing up her hair.

"I'm taken, kid." I say. Davina frowns.

"Damon, how quickly do you think you could get Elena over here?"

I'm about to speak but Davina beats me to it. "I can just do a teleportation spell. Heck of a lot quicker, just give me a second." She closes her eyes calmly and extends her arms out. She starts chanting a spell. All is going well until she suddenly opens her eyes, feeling frightened.

"Davina, what happened?" Elijah asks, seeming panicked.

"Another witch already has control over her." She says slowly.

Panic and fear swirls in my stomach but I know one thing for certain-- the bitch responsible for this will die.
