The first encounter and fright from the news article were bygones. At every instance, Oriana told herself that her past and her father wouldn't bother her anymore. That her panic attacks were no more. It was even harder when the situation was escalating so quickly.

However, after her panicked haze was over, all that was left was anger. For her father who gave her that life. For the snitch in the Magic Knights who ruined the life she was able to construct over the years.

Just as the situation calmed down and the matter was starting to settle, a bomb fell on her.

After lunch, Captain Yami had a mission for Asta, Vanessa, Luck and Magna. Oriana tagged along for a distraction. Apparently some wild boars were causing trouble to a village's harvest and were growing substantially large. It was an excellent opportunity to clear out of some steam.

At the village, Oriana stomped alongside her squad mates. A light scowl marked her face every morning. The others took notice.

"Stop being grumpy, it's lame." Vanessa enlaced her arm on Oriana's. "You need a drink! We're officially drinking after this!"

"Yes, fucking, please. I need it." Oriana said, her voice was no less grim.

"You're in one serious lousy mood. You've said nothing but bad words all day, Oriana!" Asta reprimanded.

She cleared her throat,

"Correction," she stated matter-of-factly. "All I did today was drink coffee and say bad words."

They were told to find the Mayor at the heart of the village. And in fact, it was a smooth trip. The problem came on their arrival. The Mayor had company. With a humbly dressed man, stood two figures who wore the long silver capes from the Silver Eagles. They had the distinguishable Silva's silver hair and cold stare. Nebra and Solid Silva. No one told them it was going to be a conjoined mission. And the names of those two were never mentioned either.

Oriana's hand clenched into fists by her sides and tension grew among the group. Even after all those years, even after Noelle had forgiven them, the rest of the squad felt quite differently.

"You are late." Nebra boasted. "But that is exactly what was to be expected."

"What are you doing here?" Oriana asked, her voice tight.

If she was in a crummy mindset, it was about to get a whole lot worse.

"It's a conjoined mission. You don't even know that?"

"A waste of time." Solid waved dismissively. "We already have all the entail, you can follow us and watch how it is done."

"What did you say, bastard?" Magna yelled. "We placed higher in the rankings than your stupid royal squad!"

"Hpmf. Like that means anything."

"At least try not to get in our way." Nebra passed by them, her brother at her side.

The Black Bulls were left behind, unsure if they should follow.

"We seriously have to work with those guys?" Magna muttered under his breath.

"I don't like it either," Vanessa said. "But let's comply for now."

"Comply? We can do this by ourselves!" Asta protested.

"I know that. I have a hunch that they will need us sooner or later. We'll show them who's boss then."

With heavy sighs and nods of agreement between them, the squad willingly followed Nebra and Solid Silva, a few steps behind them.
