"So you remember" I deadpanned, staring blankly at her, she nodded. "Do you remember me?" she nodded again. "What do you remember about me?" my questions flooded like a broken damn; proceeding one after the other.

"I remember how you always had a better relationship with the boy's than the adults, they all adored you. But the adults hated you, you couldn't be contained, and when you were there was hell to pay" the raven haired girl was telling the truth, she had no reason to lie and yet when I looked into her eyes I couldn't trust her.

I wanted to deeply but I just... couldn't "what's your name?" I asked, giving her time to reply.

"Teresa" her sing-song voice whispered.

"Well Teresa, welcome to the Glade" I smiled genuinely remembering the first time I entered the Glade and Alby was explaining all of this to me.

Teresa sat with her eyebrows knitted together, "I know, about this place, I know everything" she paused, staring into my eyes as if she were holding on for dear life, "even the way out".

Chuck kept an eye on the all-knowing girl as she watched everything with such caution like she thought it would break, maybe knowing it might. I sat in my room peering through the window to see the girl with my brother.
TAP TAP TAP... the sound echoed from my doorway, and in popped the head of Newt.

"Hey" he smiled weakly.

"Hi" I replied, standing from my bed, moving over to the door, leaning on the doorframe, "what's up?" I questioned.

Newt huffed out a small laugh mirroring my stance; crossed arms, ankles crossed favouring a leg. "I should be asking you the same question" he stated, "haven't got a job yet, can't be a runner due to a little bump in the road" he gestured to my leg which no longer allowed me to run as fast as before. "And slopper may be the only thing left but I could try and convince Alby otherwise" I had to raise an eyebrow at Newt's words questioning whether he was going to continue.

"What do you mean?" The question left my lips with a new tone. Curiosity.

Pushing himself effortlessly off of the door-frame Newt waved a hand, telling me to follow him.

He led me out of the homestead, out past all of the gladers doing their jobs, into the darkening deadheads that grew creepier as the sun set over the walls of the maze. Newt continued to walk to the runners hut, we were a few feet away from the door when he swerved to the right, now heading behind the runners hut. My eyebrows furrowed as I trailed behind him to see where we were going. Newt's footsteps seized when he reached the other side of the building, stopping at a trapped door planted in the ground.

Bending down to open the little hatch, Newt climbed down the ladder to a dark room which allowed me to see very little of him. "You coming?" he asked, smirking up at me, his eyes wandered down to my left leg which I was still favouring in order to relieve the slight pain.

I bent down lowering myself into the hatch that led into darkness, after stepping halfway down the ladder I felt the warmth of Newt's hands on my waist holding me lightly in case I fell. Jumping off the last step of the ladder, Newt's hands let go, allowing me to turn around to see him.

"What is this place?" I asked, gesturing to the hollow darkness to the left of me, to my right was a dirt wall and behind was the ladder. "Wasn't in the greenie tour" I stated, raising an eyebrow at the blonde boy.

He didn't answer using words. Walking into the darkness I could only make out his figure as a dark shadow, he gripped something in the middle of the air hanging down from the ceiling; made of the floor of the runners hut. A lightbulb that hung just above Newt's head snapped awake, a yellow glow emitting from the small bulb.
