Kassidy cringed as the alarm system went off. Although she had disarmed it for window earlier, the alarm automatically resets every half hour. Kassidy glared at her phone, realizing that the half hour reminder she had set to pop up had gone off silently, letting her stay out for over two hours. Shit.
"What the hell is going on in there?" yelled Tony Stark.
"Is someone breaking in? Kassidy? Baby? Oh my god, is she okay?" came Peppers voice. The couple's footsteps echoed in the hallway, approaching the bedroom far too rapidly for Kassidy's taste. The door swung open, revealing the footprints on the floor, hand prints on the window and pool of mud and rain on the windowsill and bed.
Pepper screamed, but the first thing Tony did was following the footprints into the connecting bathroom, where Kassidy was standing, covered in mud that was pooling at her feet. Instead of yelling and rewaking Peter for the second time that night, Tony said,
"Take a shower, get changed and go to sleep in the closest guest room. You're cleaning all this up tomorrow. And you're done cleaning the in the morning, go to my office. If you aren't there with this room clean by noon...well, every minute you're late will be another you will regret." Kassidy nodded.
"Good night, baby girl." Pepper whispered and she and Tony left, leaving Kassidy alone in her bathroom dripping with mud and with guilt. Tomorrow was not to end in her favor.
