A/N: ALRIGHT!! I realized I'd have to split this chapter in half, and I'm sort of thankful to prolong the end of TDW Book 1, honestly...
But yes, this is the part one of the end chapter, I didn't want to bore you guys with a VERY long chapter. Trust me.
so, THIS IS IT....the first part of the end of book one. *lowkey wiping away tears* I literally just threw in a random state in there, so if you live in North Carolina, FORGET IT! YOU LIVE SOMEWHERE ELSE!
slight TW(?); sexually suggestive jokes/slight sexual themes

On a surprising note, the ride to [Name]'s actual home is lighthearted. Despite her streaming tears and the overwhelming feel of what's to come, Five had managed to get her to be a bit more calm.
The consisted of a lot of things; ranging from reminiscing stories of Five from when they were younger(the ones where they sneak out often times to a nearby donut shop called the Griddy's), to [Name]'s constant failure during her first days at working at Rebecca's flower shop. There's a somber undertone within her words, but with Five's consistent dry and humorous remarks, she lightens up.
"Well, it's always been Klaus leading the stupidest pranks among everyone. He just asks Ben to come along and watch; though he never partook in any of it."
[Name] chuckles, "Klaus did told me he once had Ben watch him shave an asleep Luther's chest hair with mayonnaise. I think that's where Ben's fear of mayonnaise came from."
"Disgusting..."
The girl bursts in laughter at Five's genuinely grossed out face, his lips curled in distaste as he tries not to imagine the memory that came from [Name]. The tinkle of her laughter continues to grace his ears, and he couldn't help but smile nonetheless as she tries to speak inbetween wheezes, "oh God...and that time he told he shaved his own ass with chocolate pudding."
She slapped a hand across her own knee, head thrown back as unfiltered laughter escaped her lips. Her tears had long dried, and her cheeks are now just flushed with the high of her reminiscing Klaus' not so proud moments.
Five watches her from the corner of his eyes, a smile gracing his own face—not because of Klaus' idiocy, but more because of her contagious laughter. It's somewhat weird how fast her emotions change, or how she finds the humor in almost everything, but Five wouldn't trade it for anything.
It's now half past five in the morning, the two not once stopping as they continue to drive to North Carolina, where [Name]'s grandfather and her moved just a couple of months back. It's farther from The City, but the scenery they passed by and the conversation that came with it made up for the long drive.
A comfortable silence followed her giggles, the light in her eyes slowly diminishing as she starts to realize they're getting nearer. She bites her lower lip, her eyes familiarizing with the area as her heartbeat start to pick up.
"We're close..."
The buildings and houses starts to blur by, and [Name] couldn't really register anything in as she gives Five instructions on where they live. When the buildings start to decrease, and the houses starts to increase, the weight in her chest had dropped considerably. But excitement and longing continue to overpower her whole body and she couldn't help but let a smile grace her features.
This place never felt like home, but it did provide a sense of security especially when she lived with her grandfather. It's such a long time ago now, almost four years as she realizes that her grandfather is going to freak out to see her look different and somehow sound different.
