Tall Man was the first one to wake up. His white fluffy hair rested comfortably over his eyes. He saw that Boris was still asleep and decided not to wake him up. He sat on the bed next to Boris and cupped his face in his hands. He felt the scarred skin near his eyes and felt guilty. How could he lose his friend to him? Out of all ways to die, him? Tall almost started to cry when he felt a warm hand tap his back. He spun around to see a sleepy Boris just waking up. 'Good morning Tall, did you just wake up?" Tall stared for a second, then nodded yes. "Cool, anyways, wheres Kyle?" Tall gestured that he was confused. "Kyle is my friend, he went on a date yesterday and didn't come back looking for me." Tall lifted up Boris and carried him. "You rest, you had a long day yesterday. I'll wake you up when we get there." Boris was shocked to hear Tall Man talk, but his voice was comforting. "Ok, thank you..." Boris said before dozing off on Tall's shoulder.
Boris woke up in Tall Man's lap. he looked up and poked Tall Man. "Tall, where are we?" Tall pointed across and Boris looked over to see the same fort that Kyle had his date in. "this is the place Tall, thank you." Boris jumped out of Tall's lap and knocked on the door. A couple of seconds passed before the door opened and he saw Kyle. "Boris? What are...you..." Kyle's words drifted off as his eyes looked up at Tall Man hovering over Boris. "Boris, who is this?" Kyle stuttered. "This is Tall Man, the person who took care of me last night." Boris sounded mad, which he never was. "Well, thank you Tall Man for bringing Boris ba-" "No." both Boris and Tall man answered. Kyle looked confused. "I wanted to tell you that we won't be traveling together anymore," Kyle froze in fear, "Me and Tall Man will be traveling together now, you can stay here with your girlfriend." Kyle felt his heart drop. "B-Boris, buddy. Please, you don't know this guy! You have to stay with me!" "I don't have to if I don't want to!" Boris turned around and started to walk away with Tall following close behind. "Boris you're being self-centered! Stop thinking about yourself for once and let me have some time for myself!" Kyle blurted out. It was true, but it still made Boris and Tall Man furious. Boris ran away, and Tall Man gave Kyle the death glare before catching up to Boris.
Kyle shut the door and slid to the ground. He let out a heavy sigh to think things over. Why did he even say that? He knew that Boris could be a little self-centered but he didn't mind it. So why of all times was it now that he said something? Aura walked in and saw Kyle on the ground. "Kyle? What's wrong? Did something bad happen?" Kyle explained the situation to Aura. "Oh no, do you need to talk it out with him?" "I don't think that tall freak will let me even come close to him." "Well, there has to be something you can do about it? You can just sit around here all day and expect things to work out." Aura tried to give him hope, but deep down, she didn't care. After all, it's just one more pawn out of the way of her life.

Boris fell to the ground, tears quickly dripping to the ground. "Why did I do that Tall? All I meant to do was see how he was doing! Why did he say that mean stuff to me? Am I really that focused on myself?!" Boris cried out. Tall cradled Boris in his arms. "It will be okay Boris, you will figure something out." Tall said. "Yeah -sniff- we will." Tall and Boris sat there and Boris fell asleep. Tall stood up and walked over to a bed area, where he tucked Boris in and he went to go get some food. Tall felt bad for Boris and wanted to help him make up with Kyle. But he knew that Boris could sort it out. That was just one side of him. The other side didn't want Boris to make up with Kyle, he wanted Boris all to himself. When Boris and Tall met, Boris reminded Tall of his younger sister, Petunia. She was kindhearted and always looking for something fun to do. That was until she got taken away by the Manager. Tall tried desperately to get her back he couldn't even get close to him. he remembers that day vividly, the cries his sister let out when she was being crushed by the Manager, and when she called out for help that she would never get. He can't risk losing Boris. He needs someone to replace that void his sister left to feel whole again. And that was Boris.
He doesn't want to lose Boris to Kyle.
Because if he does,
He'll never be whole again.
And he doesn't want to die either.
AUTHORS NOTE~
AHHHHH I'm writing this on the same night I finished chapter one. Anyways, this is getting deeper than I thought. Usually, when I make random stories like this that are supposed to have no meaning, I make them deeper out of habit. I'm gonna draw some of the characters after this. I want to put a lot of time into Tall Man's backstory to make him fit and go along with the story. I also hope that we will see some character development in both Kyle and Boris (hint hint). Anyways, have a nice day!
