DamiRae: Bad Omens

Undercover (Preparation)

Raven was sleepy and was coming late for the meeting. She had a nightmare and could not sleep well. For her nightmare were not uncommon but, this time she had a weird dream different from anything she had ever experienced she saw a man with a dog's face. 

"8 days from now Esteban Palomino a Colombian drug cartel will give a beneficence party for the wealthy elite. A lot of influential people are going to be there. We have information that a terrorist group called ESET is planning to take the gest hostage. We have to find a way to sneak in, the entire facility will have top-class security," Grayson said as he was pointing the blueprints of a manor " The exist are here and here, maybe we can use the nearby buildings to give some support but we are going to need a team to sneak in, I was thinking that an air landing on the rooftop and, then we enter through the windows" 

"And then get kicked out or worst capture by a drug dealer," Damian said.

"I assume you have a better idea?" Grayson said.

"How about the front door?" Damian said.

"I know you are a ninja but, there will be tons of guards watching the main entrance" Grayson Said.

 "He probably has Batman's invisibility cloak or something amazing,"  Beast Boy said.

"An invitation. I have an invitation," Damian said giving the paper envelope he had in his hand to Starfire. Everyone was shocked except Gar(Beast Boy) who was disappointed.

"What? How?" Grayson Aka. Nightwing asked.

"Well father was invited and of course he had a mission with the justice league so, I send an email from father's computer saying that he was too busy to assist but, his son would go in representation of Wayne Industries," Damian said.

"You can come with a plus one. It's perfect. You and Nightwing will look so cute in smoking," Kori said. 

"I'm sorry Starfire but, I'm not going with Grayson. I have a reputation and going with my older brother would look bad. I need no babysitter. Plus I thought that bringing a superpowered companion would be better in case things go south," Damian said.

"Not much of a subtle way to ask me out but, I accept," Donna Troy aka Wonder Girl said.

Damian was speechless since he had someone else in mind, to be honest, but, there was no way of rejecting Donna without being obvious, everyone will know that Damian was in love with Raven. It had been almost a month since they first kissed but, they have managed to keep it secret. If by all mean everyone on the tower thought they were mad at each other since they had always been close friends and now they barely talked.

"You can't go," Raven said, it was something that slipt from her not knowing what to say next. "You... You haven't been on an undercover mission everyone would be watching and we can not afford to make mistakes" 

"Raven is right, maybe you should be the one who goes,"  Said Starfire who read her face suspecting something from Raven.

"me?" Raven said.

"I think that will be fine," Damian said trying to sound as if he didn't care and holding back his excitement.

"Well it's settled then," Grayson said.

//The morning before the event

"Let's go through the plan once more, Jaime and I will enter as kitchen staff with fake IDs, Kory and Donna will be hiding in the front building, they are going to be our lifeline if anything goes wrong they'll burst in. Gar you will turn into a cockroach and spy the guest conversation do not change form until you get our signal. Any questions?" Grayson said.

"Yes, one, Where is the Wonder Boy?" Jaime said.

"He is preparing for his mission," Grayson said.

"Wich is ..." Jaime said.

"To not get us killed," Grayson said. Over the course of the years, Nightwing had learned to trust Damian as a partner, after all, he was a skilled fighter but, if there was one thing Damian was known for was his lack of any social skills.

Meanwhile in the Girls' room.

"The most important part when you go on an undercover mission is to blend in with the crowd," Starfire said as she searched in a bucket full of makeup " I have a lot of cover powder but, I use a darker tone to cover my orange skin, I'm not so sure if I have enough lighter tones thought" 

"It's ok, I'm gonna use a beauty spell," Raven said. As she chanted the spell her skin turned from an ashy grey tone into milky white skin and her violet eyes turned deep blue. 

YOU ARE WASTING YOUR POWER IN THIS NONSENSE, YOU ARE A DISGRACE. Trygon said from inside Raven's mind.

"You look very nice Raven," Starfire said. "Do you like Robin?" 

She shot that question out of thin air. Raven was in shock not knowing what to answer and her new white skin had turned red as a tomato. Did she know? no that's impossible but, if she suspected something her face already betrayed her. Before she could answer anything someone knocked on the door.

"Girls I need a little help with the door, please," Donna aka Wonder Girl said. She was carrying a heavy chest full of dresses.

"Wow, these are a lot of dresses," Starfire said.

"I still don't know why you didn't ask Damian to buy you something," Donna said.

"Because I wanted to do this by myself," Raven said.

"It's not like you are asking your rich boyfriend to buy you something nice. It is for the mission plus, it was his idea," Donna said. " And also I helped you, I posted on my social media if anyone had a spare dress for my friend Raven, even Diana was eager to help. She sent you one of her togas from her youth, pieces of advice don't wear it"

"You did WHAT?" Raven said.

"Relax it's not like I'm followed by criminals or something but, I may or may not gave away your measures, sorry," Donna said.

"Girls you have to check this out," Starfire said.

Inside a plastic bag was a dress and it was perfect, absolutely perfect. In there was also a note.

Hello Raven,

You may not know me, but I know you. I make knowing my job. Take this as a token of good faith. We will meet soon and when we do, I don't want us to start with the wrong foot.

"Look it has that plastic thingy that beeps when you live the store," Starfire said.

"It was stolen. We have to give it back," Raven said.

"Oops, clumsy me I broke the plastic thing" Donna said as she crushed the artifact with her superstrength. She had an evil smile.

The girls looked at each other thinking what to do but, Raven could not take the name Selina Kyle out of hers. 

Who was her?
