Another Chance To Cherish You

Stuffiness filled her when she thought about how much Richard had to go through because of her. She was feeling awful and tears started running down her beautiful face. She was not blind nor ignorant to his love for her. She could clearly see all the efforts he put in order to marry her, and start a family with her. But what did she give him back?

Heartache.

She took out his heart and fed it to the dogs.

Evelynn could be described as immature and childish, but could you possibly blame her? 

During their fourth year of dating, when Evelynn was 22 years old, she started getting messages sent to her phone from a newly debuted actress. This woman claimed that she and Richard were dating and that Evelynn was the one who came between them.

Crazy right?

Even Evelynn did not believe it since she really trusted and believed in Richard. That was until she received photos of Richard and this supposed actress sharing a bed together. These photos looked way too real, and it totally broke Evelynn's heart. She was still in denial, she was smart enough to decide to actually ask Richard about it. She never mentioned the previous messages before, but now the situation was getting out of hand.

However, fate was never on her side.

When you are heartbroken and in a dark place in life, you wouldn't think like how a rational person normally would. Evelynn knew that Richard was probably too busy to even have the time to meet up with her and therefore she had never gotten the chance to show him the messages and photos that were sent her way. But in that situation, she felt like he was avoiding her. 

Heck, she even believed that he was together with the other woman. Evelynn did not know what medicine she took, but she really believed that she was the mistress he was raising outside.

She came up with the most difficult decision that she had to make in her life. She decided that it was for the best to just break up with him and never meet up with him again.

Evelynn had so much love for Richard, and all of it turned into hate overnight. She thought that she would not even be able to see his face without exploding from anger because he lied to her. But Richard did not reach out to her for about two months. That's when she really believed it all. He did not even care for her to even try contacting her, that's how much she meant to him. Evelynn's heart turned ice cold towards Richard and she decided that she should probably not care either. Why should she waste her time and energy thinking about him if he's not doing the same?

Only thing she did not understand was why he suddenly remembered her existence two months later. He would not stop calling, so she blocked him, but even so, he still called from another number and that's when she was forced to answer. They decided to meet up, and Evelynn thought that it was for the best to just break up face to face, so that he understood and would stop bothering her and breaking her heart even more.

Yet finally, when they actually met, she could not bring herself to ask the most important question. If Richard could forget everything they went through together and their friendship since childhood, Evelynn could not do the same. Only thing she could tell him was that she was tired of this relationship and that she wanted to break up with him. She thought she was saving both of them some face by not mentioning the other woman, but Richard did not seem to understand that. He was asking for the reason and Evelynn was getting irritated. She was too prideful to say that his real girlfriend was texting her, the mistress, and begging her to return Richard to her.

The misunderstanding between the two was never resolved in her previous life, since it was never brought up by Evelynn.

Richard could totally see that something was wrong, tried asking, but only got the cold shoulder from Evelynn.

Richard could accept everything and anything, but losing Evelynn was unimaginable for him. He would rather have her hating him, for whatever reason, and stay by his side than her leaving him. That's when he had to do something he knew Evelynn would not accept.

He basically bribed her parents with money, in order to marry her. This was something Evelynn did not understand, she gave him and the other woman the chance to be together, and what did he do? He bought her with money. This was probably the most humiliating thing that Evelynn had to ever go through in her life.

They got married soon after, and she ended up pregnant.

Just to make things clear. Evelynn actually never did anything crazy like cursing or insulting her husband, abusing her child or anything of that sort. They never had any major arguments either, just normal couple quarrels. Her biggest flaw was that she neglected her family emotionally, even though she still spent some quality time with them, they knew that there was no love in her actions. But she felt like her husband was living in denial. He believed that she could not not care for their kid, and maybe it was because she actually did care, she just never admitted it.

Richards only mistake is that he had too much faith in her and thought that she would change someday and come to think of them as a family, that she would come to cherish the people that actually loved her.

All of this happened just because she could not have a simple conversation like a civilized person. Evelynn could not blame anyone for how her life turned out, except for herself. Having low self worth because of her upbringing and not being used to confrontation led to her many wrong decisions. She even neglected her son, because Richard was his father.

Stupid, is all Evelynn can say now.

Thank god she came back.

She's thankful that she finally got another chance to talk things out with Richard, now that she actually knows the truth of what went down, and to cherish and love her baby Damien, like she should have done from the start.

With these positive thoughts on her mind, Evelynn got up and made her way to the kitchen to make a hearty dinner.
