At last

“Erm… miss? No, I meant Captain . It’s just a... well you can’t let those sails down now because the wind isn’t windward,” Kim Seokjin yelped from his seat, not daring to give commands but getting skittish from the obvious lack of sailing professionalism. “Heaven have mercy on us, keep them fastened.”

The Gold Delight was just snatched away like that, only a few people were exchanged before they were on their way. Namely, Shreya, Jungkook, and Linn boarded while Namjoon volunteered to stay on Letterston after he learned Yoongi was in a coma. The rest of the crew stayed where they were positioned.

In the beginning, Jungkook attempted to assist Shreya in the ship management and steering but there was a limit to what the boy knew so the temptress demanded the crew to bring someone to her side that knows everything there’s to know about sailing. And that’s how they brought over the battle prisoner Kim Seokjin who was taken alongside the adventure without offering a word of explanation.

Shreya furrowed her brows, dissatisfied. “But I want us to go faster.”

Seokjin chuckled humorlessly. “And I’m doing everything I can. But given the current circumstances and the plotted course this is the fastest she can get.”

“Pathetic,” the temptress grumbled and paced back and forth right under the Quarterdeck. She meant to describe their unsatisfactory speed but the ex-Captain of Letterston’s forehead became covered with sweat nevertheless.

Never before Kim Seokjin would have thought he will become this unlucky. All his life he was praised for his wits and looks as well as academic achievements; the path in front of him paved with golden stones. Whatever he set his mind to, he would excel in it followed by envious and admiring glances.

That was what his life was like until it all turned south the moment Seokjin run into Yoongi. He suffered his first defeat, he lost his ship and his crew deserted him in favor of a ghastly man. He was scared enough his soul almost left his body when he saw the mermaids that brought Silver Claw back onto the ship after the battle. He was scared to the point of almost peeing himself when the said man came to bargain with him, like a cat playing with an injured mouse.

But still , Seokjin thought, he still could somewhat understand the things that were taking place. If he reached past his rationality and blasting fear he could make sense of things, make sense of the motives and reasonings.

However, right now Seokjin was a man sailing in strange waters without a map. He no longer understood anything that was going on. All he knew was that Silver Claw was nowhere to be found and that the water creature that gave him nightmares took over the ship and had him of all people to assist in its management.

“W-well excuse me, but without a punctual destination coordinates there’s literally nothing more I can do!” frustration overruled Seokjin’s fear for a few seconds, “I can’t even re-plot our course because nobody is telling me where the hell we’re going or why we’re going there!”

Shreya regarded the injured man in his chair with cold disinterest. “That’s not for you to know. Just keep us on the course and direct the sails management!”

“Geez, way to be mysterious and terrifying. You are just like him ,” Seokjin grumbled under his nose, but little did he know that Shreya heard him nonetheless.

But really, why did they have to take him ? Ghazali was perfectly fine for the job too! Except for her hip injury really did tie her to bed, and she couldn’t be moved about as per their doctor’s orders. But such logical thoughts avoided Seokjin’s brain like the plague.
