Chapter Four ~ Home Sweet Home

Alayna's Pov:

            I woke up the next day feeling a little disoriented. I took in all my surroundings. It really wasn't all a dream. My family is now safe from their father. Rayne started to wiggle around beside me so I decided to get up and make breakfast for everyone. My body was very sore from everything but I refused to take any medication.  

            "Good morning baby girl, you want to get up and help me make breakfast?"

            She nodded and jumped out of bed. After a quick stop in the bathroom we made our way to the kitchen and started snooping around for food. It was Saturday so we decided to make the boys pancakes and bacon. It wasn't long before the smell of food woke up Cobie and Skylar, and they came to check it out.

            "Good morning boys," They took a seat at the table and I brought them some juice, "it shouldn't be too long now."

            "Can we put some cartoons on Alayna?" Cobie asked me. I was a little shocked at first.

            "Of course you can, Rayne why don't you go join them."

            I continued to prepare breakfast and I was so caught up in my own thoughts that I hadn't noticed that Leland walked up behind me.

            "Good morning beautiful." I jumped a little and turned around a little too fast because before I knew it Leland had me in his arms before I could fall to the floor. "Sorry I scared you, I thought you heard me walk up."

            In this exact moment I noticed that the only thing he was wearing were those basket ball shorts. His entire body was pressed against mine. My entire body started to heat up and I looked away shyly. I noticed that I was still in my sleep wear and my arms were on full display for him to see all my scars. I immediately felt self conscious.

            "Good morning to you to." I said as I stepped away from him and turned back to the stove to flip the last set of pancakes while trying to cover up as much as I could.

            "You didn't have to make breakfast," he told me, "You need to concentrate on healing right now. You don't need to hide them from me." He ran his hand up my arm then stepped beside me to pour himself a cup of coffee. "I'll go wake Dakota."

            I made up everyone's plates and set the table. Soon we were all sitting around the eating and chatting like last night. All the boys were on one side of the table, Leland at the head of the table and me and Rayne on the other side. Once we were all done eating everyone started talking about what they wanted to do today.

            "Why don't I help you unpack your stuff and show you around the house a little and afterwards we can do a barbecue for supper and spend time by the pool. Nothing too much, you must be in a little pain." Leland said to me. The boys all agreed and made their way to the family room to continue to watch cartoons. I was surprised to see Rayne actually join them. Dakota was laying on the floor with her and helping her do hand stands and other gymnastic things.

            "Sounds good." I smiled at him and then we both started cleaning up.

            After we were done, Leland lead me back done the hall. He explained that the bathroom that was at the end of hall was the one that me and Rayne could use. It was the master bath and he said he didn't mind sharing. The other was for the boys and ladies like us shouldnt have to share with them. We made it to my room and he moved all the bags back onto the bead. I stared going through my clothes and hanging them up in the closet while he was putting away Rayne's clothes. We didn't talk much just worked together in comfortable silence. A few times we bumped into each other and my body would heat up again. I found all our toiletries and brought them down the hall to the bathroom. It was huge. Walk in shower, a Jacuzzi bath tub that had a huge window overlooking the mountains, there was a small room to the side for the toilet, and a double sink counter across from the tub. Half of it was cluttered with male hygiene products. I went to work quickly putting my stuff away. I made my way back to my room to find Leland sitting on the bed. He motioned for me to join him.
