Ever since that night, Athusa came by to border to talk to Amethyst every night. They would talk and talk and talk for hours, telling stories of what it was like on each other's sides.
Amethyst said the Outlands were wild and adventurous. Apparently, there are more species of creatures out there and new types of trees and plants that swirled through the jungles.
She told me about her loving family and what it was like to spend a day in her village.
I didn't talk too much about my family. She seemed to have surprisingly VERY nice parents...
What would Amethyst think if she heard that my mother mated with several different dragons JUST to raise special breeds for soldiers. That's how it worked in my family....and by the time we reach thirteen years old, our mother will sell us into the king's army and start raising new kids to train.
I wasn't able to keep my secret for long. One day Amethyst noticed my scars and bruises and asked me about them. I decided to tell her the truth about my family.
She tried to convince me to leave my family and live with her in the OutLands.
