I walk home alone because Brooklyn had to go to soccer practice. Mine starts tomorrow luckily, if I'm lucky, my parents won't noticed me.
I'm about a few steps away from the house and I see Victor alone on the steps, smoking.
"Hey" I said sitting next to him
"Sup" he said putting his lips in an O shape as he blew a smoke ring
"Are mom and dad fighting again?"
"Yup" he said stomping on his cigarette
"Do you think they'll stop?" I asked
"Nope" he said
"Did dad call you fat this morning?" I asked
"No why?" He asked
"Just asking"
"Did he call you fat?" He asked I nodded my head
"So I didn't eat breakfast or lunch" I said
"Vanessa, Your not fat. Your not the skinniest person in world but your not the fattest person either. your just right" he said, "I know it may be weird for me to say it and not mom but you aren't. You believe any shit dad says."
I stood quiet, knowing I was stupid to even listen to my dad.
"I saw you with Brooklyn yesterday" he said breaking the silence
"Yeah" I said thinking of his laugh and smile
"So how'd you guys became friends?" He asked
"He's in my first period class, miss Pappermen"
"Wow." he said
"Yup, how about you?" I said
"Oh well he first moved I said hello cause I mean mom nor dad wasn't gonna do it." he said, "I then took him on a ride on the first day of school"
"What? you take him but not your sister?" I asked in shock
"You didn't hear didn't you?" I shook my head no, "me and Gracie broke up"
"What? When?" I questioned
"Two days before school started. she told me that when she was in Florida she hooked up with this guy name Ryan" he said, "so I broke up her"
"I'm sorry" I said
"It's not your fault" he said
"I love you" I said
"I love you too little sis" he said
-2 weeks later-
I was walking into the cafeteria, and so me and Sam aren't friends anymore. She unfollowed me on every social media. not that I care, cause it's rare I go on. But before I did I went to my locker to my stuff in and grab my 5th period stuff. I saw a paper fall out of my locker. I picked it up and read.

I smile. I walk to the field to see Brooklyn setting a blanket up.
"Hey" I said smiling
"Hi Beautiful" he said back looking at me

"Happy birthday!" He said
