Three years

Master Fu offered Nino and Mari his house so he and Marianne could be together again. They gladly took his offer and used the money from the Mayor to update the house and turn the front half into Mari's new boutique which she called  Alice's, in honour of her lost best friend. Nino was able to get work as a gigging DJ and worked at a bar once a week. They were happy. They kept up many of the habits they had in Dou Luna. Mari wore skits all the time, and Nino never went back to ball caps. They still celebrated their birthdays in between their birthdays and could then give their birthday days to their families. Mari and Nino also were tasked with keeping the Kawmis safe. Master Fu had passed on the role of guardian to both of them. (No memory thing loss cause I hate that story mechanic)

The four heroes were now thirty and had three three-year-olds running around and Mari was expecting her second. Adrien and Alya were going to wait a little longer for fear of having a second set of twins and four under four was not a good idea for the reporter and teacher. Victora Ally Lahiffe was a clumsy toddler who had blue hair and hazel eyes. Ethan David and Oliver Jacob Graham de Césaire had green eyes and auburn hair. Alya worked as a writer at the TV station at one point she wanted to be on camera but now she enjoyed digging into stories and writing the more in-depth articles that went with the TV news stories.  Adrien loved being a teacher, he loved working with his students. He kept working with the fencing team and even offered Chinese lessons and offered tutoring on select evenings at the library.

Only living two blocks apart, meant the four friends spent a good amount of time together making up for seven years of lost time. Nino watched the children when the other three were at work, sometimes he took Victora to Adrien and Alya's home and other times Alya dropped the twins off on her way to work. Nino loved hanging out with the kids during the day and DJing at night, and Carol took a few days too just so Nino could sleep all day when needed.

Nino sat rocking his daughter to sleep. Yeah, she was three and was more than old enough to put herself to sleep, but Nino didn't always get to have bedtime to all to himself, but he'd had the night off and Mari had a client who could only meet later in the evening. So this was a rare treat for him.

He set her in her toddler bed and slipped out quietly. As he such the door Mari walked into the home part of the building. She was the worst. I'm not working with her again.

Oh, come here. Nino pulled into her his arms. He walked her to the couch and held her for a minute. "You're gonna be fine love, just a few more months and your on mat leave and you can design in peace and no one can tell you otherwise." He kissed her forehead.

"Thanks, baby. How did Victora go down?"

"Like an angel." He smiled. He felt their baby kick. "Babe! The baby moved."

"I know love they kicked me." She teased. "What are you hoping for this one?"

"Well we know that we can raise a pretty great daughter so I would mind doing it again, but then I'm outnumbered." He teased.

"Cope out the answer." She stuck her tongue out.

"Oh so do you have a preference love?" He rubbed his hand over her stomach.

"Well, I never had a brother growing up, or a sibling for that matter, so I guess the idyllic picture of one and one sounds nice, but if we get a girl we could try for a boy." she winked.

"Would, would you want more than two?" They never really talked about the family size before.

"I mean I was an only child I'd love to have a house full of kids." She smiled, "But to is fine for now."

"Yes for now." Nino curled his wife closer who did seem to be doing better but still clearly was carrying the weight of her day. "You know, I think we have some ice cream left from last night we could indulge a bad day away with."

"I think that sounds like the best idea love." Mari let him help her up and hand in hand and went to the kitchen to enjoy a sweet treat. While they enjoyed their ice cream Nino pulled out his phone and found their song at the moment. Mari smiled and dropped her spoon, and let him take her by the hand, she let him lead her around the kitchen in a dance so familiar that it was like breathing. And as he dipped her into a kiss, Nino knew he'd never been happier to be home in Paris with the girls he loved.
