You're exhausted and you can't fall asleep no matter how you try due to the overwhelming anxiety you're feeling. It's been eleven years since you last saw your twin, Kieth.
The odor of cigarettes and vomit didn't help your mood either and the chilly weather outside didn't help either. You were so used to the year round hot and sunny weather in the cushy wealthy suburbs where you once lived with your father while he was still alive. It's only been a week since the funeral.
His booming voice brought back memories both joyful and painful. Despite his happy nature, you could never get rid of the anger he had in his voice when fighting with your mother after he found she cheated on him with someone from her work. You were only eight when you were separated from your brother and went to live your father.
Keith, Keith. You wonder how life's treated him. Would he accept you back into your life? Did your mother feed him lies about you or your father? The thought made you tremble.
No, No. You'll be okay, Keith had your back in the past. Why wouldn't he not have it now? Especially when you needed it most... right? Your mother on the other hand...
Your head spun around and around. You heard that your mother married that man she had an affair with. There's a good chance they're still working for the same company. The thought of it hurt. It hurt you so fucking much. That damn woman.
The car suddenly stopped. It ended your train of thoughts which raced through your mind. It seemed like you didn't realize how long you spent thinking. The drivers' words of "We're here" didn't register, instead they were ignored after you saw the house in front of you.
The appearance of the one similar house had changed. Instead of the white home with black trimming and roof, it was now a brown with a dark grey roof. Although the house did look rather pretty it gave almost no comfort. In fact, it gave you the opposite. It left a pit in your stomach.
You paused for a moment before reaching into your bag to fetch your wallet. Taking a deep breath and exhaling you gave the driver his royalties for his service.
Quickly, you grabbed your bags and left the car. All you could do now was muster up your courage and starting walking. Although before you could take a single step you heard someone call your name.
"Y/N...!" Keith yelled running towards you with open arms.
You had one thing less to worry about.

440 words. Hopefully I'll write longer chapters in the future. Also sorry if some words were super repetitive. I haven't written in years so hopefully I'll improve as I go. Constructive criticism is welcome.
