"It's me or the egg."

Skeppy couldn't get his own words out of his head. He was different somehow- searing red vines crawling up his skin, tethering him to the walls of the blood red egg. His mind was plagued, his thoughts were murmurs of conversion and taking over.

What the egg wants. What the egg wants.

Yet, despite his brain being clouded by the invasive thoughts, Skeppy heard one word that was clearer than all the others. It made his ears ring. Something was trying to scrub it away, but it stayed like a blood stain.

Badboyhalo.

"Can you hear me?" The voice was familiar- it wasn't supposed to be familiar. He wasn't supposed to have attachments.

Skeppy blinked his eyes open. He felt... he felt fine. Something was off, but he wasn't supposed to know that. In front of him, he could see a taller figure, a black hooded creature with white eyes and fangs. His cloak was trimmed with red, which caught Skeppy's eye. Red was a good colour. He looked down at his hands, seeing his fingers laced with skinny bloodvines. This was correct. He wanted the red vines.

The worry in the white-eyed creature's expression made Skeppy tilt his head. "Who... are you?" He tried not to take notice of the uncharacteristic roboticness of his voice, as it was being forcibly pushed away.

"Wh- it's me! Your best friend? D-don't you remember?"

Silence blanketed them. Skeppy felt his mind turn. It wasn't supposed to do that.

Biting his lip, the creature took him by the arm and yanked him towards the cracked opening of the egg. Skeppy was tethered to the walls of the thick shell by all the growth.

"Why would you do that? The egg is beautiful. I'm meant to stay here." The egg hissed in Skeppy's mind, forcing words out of his throat.

"I-... I thought so, too. Until it did this to you. Just- just trust me, Skeppy."

How did he know his name? The confusion and shock that pooled in his thoughts made him forget momentarily about the unwanted tearing away from the vines.

"Badboyhalo." Skeppy let his own thoughts take control for the single word. He thought of the colour red. He thought of the word Badboyhalo. He thought of the egg. They must be connected, right?

The surprise on the other's face was unexpected, but Skeppy only blinked in response. Badboyhalo must have something to do with the egg- but, then why was his brain trying to wipe the word from his memory?
