My notes:
Many people regard this fic as canon for the Marauders Era and I agree that it is very, very good, and incredibly well developed. I love the different take on Remus' past as i feel it adds a new depth to the character and makes his story all that more tragic.
(This is not me hating on atyd, i've literally read it twice and enjoyed it a lot.) However, I feel as though wolfstar could be quite toxic at times, especially during sixth year and it actually left me wishing Remus would date someone else. BUT HEAR ME OUT. That being said, the portrayal of their relationship was very very realistic. Sirius and Remus both had a lot of trauma and as a queer person myself I definitely understand Sirius' struggles of accepting his own sexuality. Plus they were teenagers in the 70s trying to figure themselves out in the middle of a WAR and they didn't have the representation and information there is now. I think the characters did the best they could.
This is definitely not a lighthearted read in terms of their relationship. But the writing is great and it genuinely left me sobbing when i finished it!
one of my favourite OCs is also in this fanfic. GRANT DESERVED BETTER. I LOVE YOU.
