British Empire was a powerful king, with many lavish belongings. His palace was a work of art, an art he displayed through balls. People would flock from all over to attend, even those with malicious intentions. Mexico was at this ball by order, in case the prince were to act up. He calmly studied the room. In the corner, the prince was with his siblings dancing. Surrounding the room and suffocating the atmosphere were guests of many lavish backgrounds. Kings, queens and nobles were packed together and dancing to the music playing in the corner. Mexico sighed, wondering when he could be done with this party. Mexico was watching as a tall man, the Czar of Russia, flirted with the young prince. Mexico wanted to barf. The prince was merely a teen, the czar a grown man. America accepted Russian Empire's dance anyway.
Suddenly, the sound of breaking glass filled the room. Before Mexico knew it, people were running and screaming, tripping over each other and trying to find an exit. Mexico saw multiple people with weapons taking down as many people as they could. Mexico froze with fear. Usually in these situations, his master would grab him and drag him to safety, but Ireland had already been dragged out by Prince Scotland, leaving Mexico frozen in place.
"WHIPPING BOY!" Mexico heard someone shout. Next thing he knew, he was being dragged away.
"Mexico, are you ok?!" Mexico heard a familiar voice say. He looked up at his savior and saw America.
"Y-your highness! We need to find the others!" Mexico exclaimed. Hand in hand, the boys ran through the palace and out to the courtyard. They looked around, but didn't see anyone. Suddenly, America was grabbed from behind. One of the attackers grabbed him and held a gun to his head. Mexico, without thinking, grabbed the attackers arm and tried to pull him away. When that didn't work, Mexico bit down on the attackers arm, feeling warm blood flood his tastebuds. Mexico spit out the irony taste and picked up America, for the attacker had dropped him out of shock. Mexico sprinted as fast as his legs could take him into a forest.
"MEXICO LOOK OUT!" America exclaimed. Before Mexico could react, he tripped and tumbled down a ledge.
He woke up to a bright afternoon sun. He and the prince had fallen off a cliff, and both were knocked out by the fall. America was laying on top of Mexico, still out cold. Mexico got up, pushing the prince off him and onto the rough dirt floor of the forest. America groaned and opened his eyes, squinting out the sun.
"Wh-where are we?" America said dryly and drowsily.
"I'm not sure your highness... somewhere in the forest," Mexico said. America got up and stretched. "We should start heading out... we need to find civilization," Mexico said. America waved his hand dismissively.
"No need, I'm sure someone is looking for us," America said. Mexico crossed his arms.
"Your highness, who knows what lurks in this forest! We need to get to safety now, we can't wait," Mexico said. America shrugged.
"Please, they've probably already sent out a search party. Don't worry so much," America said. Mexico grimaced, and then roughly pulled America along.
"We're finding some civilization wether you like it or not," Mexico said. America pulled his hand away.
"You can't tell me what to do!" America exclaimed.
"Fine! Stay here and die then! I'm finding a village," Mexico exclaimed, storming off.
Stupid royals
Just die then, what do I care?
Mexico kept stomping away, but a small bit of worry was nipping the back of his mind.
What if someone saves him and I'm lost once more?
Or... what if he dies a horrible death all alone?
I don't want to pity him, I swear I don't care about him...
But I can't leave him like this.
Mexico sighed, and turned back. He re-navigated his path, and found the prince curled up against a tree and drawing in the dirt.
"Your highness?" Mexico said. America's eyes darted up to him.
"I thought you left?" America said.
"I did... but... I can't leave you to die.... please your highness, I promise if we find a village it will be much easier for the kings men to find us," Mexico said. America looked down, before smiling up at Mexico.
"... please, call me Amy. I'll go with you,"
