OR THE ONE WHERE THEY GO DRESS SHOPPING !!
Two weeks until the Yule Ball and Amy still didn't have a dress — Merlin, she didn't even know which color she should pick. She looked good in blue but that was perhaps expected from her, being a Ravenclaw and all. Yellow was nice too, it brought out her tan skin and dark hair. Red maybe? No, too sexual. Or green.. Amy loved dark greens.Matt was happy with the distraction. His mum was getting better, he didn't know how but he wasn't complaining. The woman had done a whole 180.
Just two weeks he saw his mum with Amy. Miss Sanders was weak and skinny, keeping her eyes open was a big task and she found it hard to talk. She slept most of the day.
Last week miss Sanders was more peppy and her eyes weren't as half-lidded as they were before. Matt even took her to the gardens (Dumbledore didn't allow Amy to come) and she only fell asleep once, when Matt was away to get mugs of steaming tea.
It was as if a miracle had happened.
Back to the present; the two best friends were standing in front of the full sized mirror in Matt's dorm. Amy had hauled her trunk with all her dresses to his room (damn stairs that change in a slide) and they were rummaging through it.
"Would it be weird if I wore a dress to the Yule Ball? Reckon I can pull this one off," Matt was holding a pretty red dress with mesh sleeves.
"You do you, Mattie. I think you would rock it. Who are you going with?" Amy watched Matt lay the red dress on his bed and resume the digging.
They both 'ooh'ed' a silky yellow dress Amy was holding and she stripped from her school uniform.
"Blaise offered to come with me but I think that's a bit sad, isn't it? My cousin being my pity date.. It's not like I have many options though, with you betraying me and going with George."
"You literally told me to 'go get my man'. You can't be mad at me for following your advice. Help me up?"
Amy turned her back to Matt and he tried to pull up the zipper — Key word being 'tried'. It wouldn't budge at all.
Amy sucked in her stomach. "Try it again."
Still the zipper wouldn't move.
"You've gotten fat," Matt simply said.
"Thanks. That's kind of you."
