Tweek Tweak and Butters Stotch

.

When people talked about "friendship", it was difficult for them to believe in that.
What was the true meaning of that mysterious word? Of that thing that people don't always care about?
Friendship: a strong feeling of happiness, which allows you to enjoy good times with people you love and always be there for each other. It can make you feel complete.
Butters didn't feel that way; he was the classic crybaby, but with a big and pure heart. Always kind and there for everyone...and they only used him.

Even Tweek didn't feel that way; the only one he had by his side was his boyfriend: Craig.
But life can offer you beautiful things too...so, what if I told you a story about a great friendship? What if I told you that since that day none of them felt alone anymore?
And that morning, a question hit Butters strangely...he felt just more empty.
"What's friendship for you?"
It was the question the teacher asked.

<<I don't know...I really don't know...>>
That was everything he could say.
He didn't know, really.
<<Now you don't know. Sometimes it could seem to you to be alone in the world, but it's not like that. Just look around, Butters: you are not alone; I'm sure you'll find a real friend who will adore you and be always by your side.>>
The teacher said softly.

Someone? And when? Probably never. How could he believe that someone would love a crybaby like him?
He was too sweet and polite, but most importantly: incapable of defending himself.
He was totally alone and their parents wouldn't help or listen to him at all. He definitely couldn't trust them.
He simply couldn't!

Sooner the students heard the school bell: it was finally free time.
Butters was the last one to get out of the classroom.
He was sure that he would spend that free time by himself again...or maybe not.
Perhaps he wouldn't be the one sitting on that swing in the garden anymore since that day.
A blonde guy went there right next to him.
Wait...Tweek? Why him?
<<Hi, Butters.>>
Said the other kid.
<<Uh...hi, Tweek.>>
Replied Butters.
<<How are you?>>
Asked Tweek all of a sudden.

"Hi", "How are you?"
That were words he didn't hear for a long time.
If someone told him that a beautiful friendship could start from a simple conversation before, he probably wouldn't believe it.

<<I'm so damn sick, Tweek.>>
He replied without thinking twice.
<<Me too, Butters.>>
Then they just gave a look at each other, without saying a word. Then they just hugged.
And that hug counted more then a million words.
They spent together that free time, but they didn't know that they would never left each other ever since that day.
Sometimes they spent time even with Craig or Pip.

Trust? Butters never really trusted someone since then. Tweek only trusted Craig, instead.
But day by day they became more close, they literally considered each other as brothers.
And so they started to hang out too and every day spent together was just awesome, making them share good memories.

And the most significative thing was the birthday gift that Tweek gave to Butters: a picture of them with a little letter behind it.
It said: "And if you need anything, write to me. I'll be there for you. I love you, my dear friend."
Since that evening they started exchanging letters.
They understood each other like no one else could do...they both had big problems too.

Exchanging letters became a routine; sometimes they arrived totally wet of tears at their destination.
But both of them never had to wait too much for an answer.
And here we have the final two letters of this short story of a long friendship, lasted for years.

"Dear Tweek,
I don't know if you will read this letter.
We're adults right now and we have known each other for twenty years...yet I feel like I will never be able to show you how much I adore you.
We share unforgettable memories together, from the happiest to the saddest...but no matter what happens, you were and you still are always there for me.
So thank you very much for everything.
You helped me to understand that we are not alone.
Friendships like these are very difficult to find, and I am so glad I found a friend like you.
Thanks, thanks for everything, Tweek.
How are you right now?
You deserve the best from life.
-Butters"
Receiving and reading that letter just made Tweek cry of joy. And how could he only think to not reply to something so sweet?

"Dear Butters,
It doesn't matter how much are you "able" to show me how much you adore me.
You were and you still are like a brother to me and I'm so damn grateful to have you.
And you don't have to thank me...but I have to for everything.
You've been used and forgotten by people who didn't deserve the beautiful person you are.
I'm fine and really this time.
And you?
I love you and I wish you the best too.
-Tweek."

They never needed a million words...all that counted to them were the facts. More than anything.
They just needed to know that they were there for each other.

.

A/N: I've always thought that a friendship between Tweek and Butters could work!
And those characters are also two of my favourites, so it's obvious I would write something about them too.
I don't know if my English is correct in this one, but it's also 12:48 AM here and I should sleep, but heh-
This was also really difficult to translate.
Hope you enjoyed!
