Forgotten

Me? Psycho? Never.

I grabbed his hand and dragged him to the door to go outside. We went through the garden. He made a few comments about how beautiful it was. Then we finally got to the thorn wall.

"What is this?" Leo asked.

"Do you trust me?"

"We just met."

"Oh well come on." I led him through the path. "This is the forest that no one has ever survived a single night in."

"What do you mean?!" he said.

"Well the legend goes.

The forest has it's dark mysteries,

All of which is hidden in the hickories.

To find the truth,

To find the past.

One night is all you have to last.

Come one,

Come all.

Be prepared to fall.

For one night may cost all.

I don't fully know what that means though."

"Are you Psychotic?" he screamed.

"That is a very strong word."

"Well I have very strong feelings!"

"Oh shush. You were the one who asked if there were any fun places to go."

"Please remind me to never ever ask you that again. Please."

"You know right now you are being very annoying. I wish I had grabbed a weapon before we left the castle."

"You don't have a weapon?!"

"No I forgot."

"Oh my god I'm going to die."

"Chill out. I've been in this forest dozens of times trying to escape my family."

"Why would you want to escape your family?"

"It's not that big of a deal, just my family isn't as perfect as makes it seem."

"Well we have all the time in the world. Why don't you talk to me about it."

"It's just hard being a middle child. My father barely remembers my name. He doesn't believe that I can run the kingdom so he doesn't even consider me as an heir to the throne."

"Wow that sounds like a horrible dad. I think you would make an amazing queen. I mean you are powerful, strong, and independent. All the qualities that would make an awesome queen."

"Thank you." I was blushing at this point. He was actually really sweet. Oh no was I falling for him? No I couldn't be. Love is stupid and for unrealistic idiots. When did I get so close to him? I was so close to him I could smell him. He smelled like hot black coffee, a warm crackling fireplace, and expensive cologne. He grabbed my hands. Then we leaned in and softly pressed our lips together. It felt like hours until we pulled away.

"Oh wow um, we've been here a while we should probably head back," I sputtered.

"Yeah. I'll go scout out really quick to make sure nothing is going to hurt us. If I'm not back soon call a search party," he said.

"Ok." I waited for a minute or two until I remembered about the crowns. The tree was only a little bit away from where I was. I was falling for Leo though. I decided to go get the crowns. While sprinting to the tree I felt a bit guilty. When I got there I checked inside the tree. The crowns were still there so I leaned over the tree to get them. Then I ran back to where I originally was. Soon enough Leo came.

"Leo look what I found while you were gone! It is the king and queens crowns! We didn't even know that they had been stolen!"

"Wow that's lucky we should get back to the castle and return them."

"Ok sounds good!"
