[So I wrote this- then started my Royal au. It will be similar when I write this chapter in my story but much will be changed. Anyways, it's Fluff so don't worry! Also, Dnf royal au]

George stood there. Awkwardly- VERY, awkwardly. He felt so... what's the word- excluded. He hated balls. Absolutely despised them. He hugged himself ever so slightly as to not be noticed. Not like he was going to be. He felt tears well up. What's the point of having a kingdom if no ones going to even appreciate and worship you? He cursed to himself as he felt a tear roll down his cheek. He cursed at the wretched ball. He hated it. He hated being prince. He hated being royal. He despised it all. He couldn't go outside the kingdom- hell- he couldn't even go outside the castle walls! Everyday it was, wake up, eat breakfast with mother and his brother Alex, walk to the library, have lunch with his guard in the flower field- wait- where was his guard?

He sniffled slightly and shrugged it off. He's sure Dream, his assigned guard was around somewhere around. Probably talking to some pretty lady or something. Not that he cared. Because he didn't. He didn't. He. Didn't. Well, truth be told, he did. Deep down he did. He had noticed warm feeling pop up for Dream out of nowhere. Well, they obviously came from somewhere. He can't remember when or how, but he had. He and Dream had been together since they were young. Although George has never seen his face above the mouth, he has been very close with the guard. It dates back to when George was around eleven years old, while Dream had been ten.

George had found the boy while he had sneaked out of the castle. It had turned out that Dream's family had died in a fire the next kingdom over. George then promised the boy that he'd do anything to try and help him, and just like that the two became the bests of friends. George brought him back to the castle, even if he knew he'd get in trouble for sneaking out, and begged his parents to let Dream both stay and get help. His parents agreed, and Dream couldn't thank them enough. In return, Dream had promised himself that when the time eventually came, he would asked the king and Queen to sever as a knight. When Dream had turned fifteen, he snuck behind George's back and asked the royal rulers if he were to be allowed to become a royal knight. The king and queen turned him down, but to Dream's shock, smiled, and asked if he would be willing to be George's, and only, George's personal assigned guard.

Of course, with George having done so much for Dream over the past five years, he agreed. He surprised George with the news while George himself couldn't believe his best friend had asked. "Clay- you didn't have to!" Said the sixteen year old brunette, crossing his arms. Clay, or, better known as Dream, chuckled as he kept walking along side his friend. "What?! Of course I did! George, you've done so much for me, how dare you think I wouldn't want to server you!" George huffed and he continued walking. "But- I guess.. it's just-" he groaned. "Whyyyy!" He pouted. "I wanted you to stay as was- now your my guard?!" Dream rolled his eyes from under his mask.

"George, cmon, it'll be fun! Plus, that means we get to spend more time together!" The blonde jumped up and smiled. George smiled back as they reached the garden. Dream opened the door for George and bowed slightly. "After you, myyy ladyy~" George blushed slightly and scoffed. "Shut up Clay," he walked passed him and into the flower field. Dream chuckled and walked in after him whilst the door behind him closed. "Not going to defend your self? Are you saying your a woman~?" George smirked and turned around smiling up at his taller friend. "What? And what if I am? I'm a young and independent woman BITCH!" Dream burst out wheezing at his words while George giggled.

George smiled at the memory. It had been two years since that day. He was now eighteen while Dream was seventeen. George sighed as he was brought back into reality. Oh right. He's stuck. I'm this stupid ball room. Filled with people who don't even care about him or his well being. It's all about the gold, women, and wine for these people. As he turned around, he stopped. He felt as thought someone was watching him. He looked around but, nobody was looking in his direction. He shrugged it off as he started walking towards his spot. Well, his and Dream's spot. He didn't notice, as he was walking, more and more tears falling down his cheeks. He opened the door to the garden and smiled as the fresh breeze rolled past him. The fresh smell of flowers and salty air was welcoming to him. The palace was near the ocean, which made it more better for the young prince. George enjoyed the smell of salty ocean water mixed with the natural smell of flowers. It was somehow, a good mix. George sat down near some dandelions and petunias. He could still hear the music from the ballroom.

George started humming along ever so slightly and quietly. Another thing that was quiet, was Clay sneaking up behind him. As soon as he got close enough to the brunette, he whisper yelled his name. "Oh Georggeee~" The older of the two jumped and accidentally punched Dream's mask. "Ow! Dude!" "CLAY-?!" Wow- you can actually- land a hit-" "OH MY GOD- CLAY?! WHAT THE HELL?!" George stood up and glared at the talked boy. "Not even a sorry- okay then-." George rolled his eyes at Dream's tease. "Your the one who snuck up on me!? Why are you even here though," Dream smirked. "I could ask you the same thing~ your highness." George huffed. Not until you tell me first!" Dream chuckled and leaned on the fence that was there to protect the gardens from any outsiders.

"Well, there was a new guard, his name is Sapnap, well, it's really Nick, I found out but he likes being called Sapnap. The king asked me to give him a tour so, I did just that." George nodded. "I didn't know father was looking for recruits." "Me neither, I think he's around our age as well," "Really? Huh, interesting." Dream nodded. "I think he told me he was- sixteen-? I believe? I dunno. He seems really cool though! Maybe we could all hang out or something!" George smiled and nodded slightly. "Sure, why not." Dream smiled as well before humming. "Your turn~ now tell me, why are you out here all alone?"

George sighed and sat back down. "It was just, too.. loud in there. And boring. And..well..lonely.." Dream was about to tease him, but he could tell his friend was sincere about it and didn't want to upset him even more. "Hm. No dance partner?" George shook his head. "Their all just- too, um. What's the word-" "stuck up-?" "What- no-" "too, high and might?" "I- pff, I mean-kinda" "to, greedy?" George giggled at his friends words. "Yeah.. something like that." There was a moment of silence before Dream spoke up again, this time speaking softly. "Or.. are you too, good for them?" George looked up at his friend blushing. "W-what?" It was quiet, but you could hear it. Dream didn't look back at him but instead held his gaze, focused on the cornflowers.

There was silence once again. George looked down at the grass in front of him, red tint still along his cheeks. After about two minutes, Dream moved from leaning on the fence and stood in front of George. The brunette looked up at Dream confused. Dream smiled. He did something that he had planned for this very night. He took of his mask and placed it on the grass. George gasped and took in the very sight of his best friend's face. Dream chuckled as he looked back at George, making clear eye contact. Holding out his hand for George to grab, he whispered out a, "Would you, care for a dance Georgie~?" George felt his cheeks become even more red as he took Dreams welcoming hand. The taller of the two pulled the shorter up, and even as Dream pulled up George, the two did not break eye contact.

The music from the ballroom changed to a song George knew by heart. Howl's moving castle. George giggled and it seemed Dream took notice of the song and smiled. "So? Can I have this dance~?" George looked like he thought about it for a moment before humming out a, "Why of course~" making Dream blush slightly. Dream put one hand on George's waist whilst the other met with George's hand. The hand that wasn't holding Dream's, was on Dream's shoulder. And just like that, the two boys started waltzing around the flower filled. No one else, just them, and the flowers. It was indeed a beautiful scene. As well as beautiful feeling, for both of them.

As the song came to an end, both boys seemed to have a certain understanding. Dream lowered his head towards George's, only stopping at his lips. Before Dream could ask, George nodded leaning in as well colliding his and Dream's lips together. The kiss was sweet, and soft. It was filled with love, as well as longing. It was special. Just for the two of them to share. On this night, at this time, in this place. Just the two of them. Maybe balls weren't so bad after all,?
