3 - A Theory

{[Yun' POV]}

Even thou this school is one of the most prestigious schools in the country, the entrance ceremony still functions like any other schools. A speech for the students of the school and for the newcomers. Then short introductions of the school clubs. I don't think I should attend a club for now because it may hinder my plans in the future.

After the ceremony, it was noon, I decided to head to some random stores and buy some necessities. But I decided that as I was walking to the shopping areas, I tampered with my phone's points display a bit because if someone saw my points it may cause some problems for me. I decided to transfer 90% of my points to my right eye's HUD for safe keepings. I'll add only a couple thousand points if anything is needed for my goal.

Inside the store, I spotted Horikita looking through the cosmetic section, and noticed me walking in.

Horikita: Another unpleasant coincidence.

Yun: *sigh* It sure is. Anyways, why don't we try to get along? The names Yun Lin, what's yours?

She gave me sigh ,knowing I won't stop 'til she tells me her name, and looks at me.

Horikita: It's Horikita Suzune.

I noticed that the student council president has the same name as her. Probably her older brother, I'll try my best to not bring that subject up.

She started picking up products, and from the looks of it she was checking out the cheaper products.

Yun: Huh. And I thought gurls would pick more expensive ones.

Horikita: That depends on the person, no? And can you please not look at other people's basket without their permission.

Yun: Whatever you say.

I then started picking out only necessary products but only in the mid price. Even thou I'm rich I should try to act as I am saving my money because it may cause some suspicions on me. Anyways, as I was picking out shampoo products I stumbled upon an unusual sight.

Yun: Free items? I guess they must be for students who spend there all of their points. Again the school is just too lenient. There-

My thought were cut off when I heard someone yell.

???: Hey, just wait a bit! I’m looking for it now!

I looked at the direction to where the voice came from and I saw a red-haired guy who was one of the people in my class who didn't introduce themselves.

???2: Hurry up! Everyone’s waiting!

???: Oh, really!? Tell them to complain directly to me!

Yun: Umm... Execuse me what seems to be the problem here?

???: Huh?! Who are you?

He must have mistaken me for another enemy and shot me a glare.

Yun: The names Yun Lin, we're in the same class. I was quite curious on what set this arguement into flames.

???: Oh yeah, I saw you in class. I forgot my student ID card in the dorms and I can't pay.

I look over the counter and saw that he was apparently buying snacks. I guess this is my first step to acheiving my goal.

Yun: I can pay for you. It would be pretty annoying to go all the way back to the dorms. I don't mind paying for you.

???: …That is true. It is annoying to go all the way back, I was glad you were here. Thanks.

I payed for him and we both left the store.

Sudou: My name is Suduo. Thanks man, I owe you one.

Yun: It's no problem at all.

As Suduo was munhing his noodles he gave one of the noodles I payed for which I humbly accepted. I took the cup noodles from Sudou then walked over to the hot water dispenser. Horikita was amazed after seeing that short exchange.

Horikita: You’re a pushover even from the first meeting. Are you going to be his obedient servant? Or is this how you’re trying to make friends?

Yun: Is there something atleast positive about me in your mind?

Ignoring what I said

Horikita: You don’t seem to be scared at his appearance either.

Yun: Scared? Why would I be scared? He just looks like a guy who will fight only when provoked

Horikita: A normal person would probably stay away from that kind of person.

Yun: Then why are you not scared of him?

Horikita: Only people without any method of protecting themselves stay away from those types. If he seemed violent, I’d repel him away from me. That’s why I’m not really afraid.

Whenever Horikita says something, it’s always something unusual. First of all, when she says “repel,” what does she mean? Is she carrying around some kind of anti-molester spray?

Horikita: Let’s finish shopping. It’d bother other students if we loitered around too long.

We finished up our shopping. After presenting the student ID card to the machine, the transaction was quickly completed. It was even faster because there was no small change involved.

Yun: I'm still troubled by the fact that they are offering free items? What could that mean? Hmmm..

The receipt showed the prices of each good and the leftover amount of points. While waiting for Horikita, I put hot water into the cup noodles.

Yun: Lets think about what clues are currently laid on the table. First of the money, I calculated that in my grade there is about 160 people. And if I use that number as the average amount of students per grade, this school should be housing about 480 students total. If my classmates assumptions are right that they'll give us 100,000 points a month that'll equal to 48 million yen. Secondly, the free items. Why would they give us an option to choose free items if they given us a huge sum? Third, doesn't this school produce stunning responsible workers? Because if they gave them this amount of money per month it will most likely welcoming them to spoil themselves inside this school. And lastly, what does sensie mean by 'This school measures the abilities of students. Everyone here, who passed the entrance exam, has shown some level of merit and worth.' Its pretty unusual for a teacher to say that.

I then figured out a theory on what this school was really on about. I started chuckling.

Horikita: Why are you laughing?

Yun: Its nothing but a word of advice. Try to save as much points as possible.

Horikita: I'll take the advice.

Then made her way back to the dorms as I walk my way back to Sudou. We talked for a while, and suddenly three upperclassmen came to us. From the exchanges between them and Sudou this was there spot and we will experience 'true hell'. After that, the upperclassmen left, Suduo got mad and kicked the trash can that was nearby. He left without saying a word. I looked up and saw a security camera, that most likely recorded the whole thing.

I sigh and cleaned up the mess.

I was laying in my bed, in my dorm, thinking about what the upperclassmen said about us experiencing 'true hell'. I laid out the clues again and what that upperclassman said further supported this theory of mine.

Yun: *chuckling* I can't wait to see their reactions in the first of May.
