HAZEL

The last thing I remember was Ryan shouting my name and after that, I recall feeling an intense sting on my arm. I remember falling down trying to keep my eyes open as Ryan requested, but my eyelids felt heavy and I closed them being consumed by the darkness. Except that, I don't remember a single thing.

Feeling extremely dizzy, I tried opening my eyes and all I could hear was something beeping at a very close distance from me. My nostrils were filled with some unusual kind of smell. Once my eyes opened, partially. I found myself in a hospital room. Well, that explains the smell.

I tried to move but clearly it wasn't a good decision because when I moved, my right hand ached like hell.

"Ahhhh." I cried in pain looking at the door of the room, expecting someone to come and help me but there was no sign of anyone entering the room any time soon.

My arm felt sore and I could not do anything about the pain. My throat felt dry and there was a glass on the table on my right but I couldn't reach that, either. My whole body felt like it had been beaten.

I closed my eyes, trying to go back to sleep as I would feel the pain more if I stayed awake. But how much ever I tried, the soreness of my arm and the suffering of my body didn't allow me to do so.

I started sobbing as soon as I felt a burning sensation in my wound with my eyes still closed.

"Hazel." I heard someone say. Someone whose voice I had been longing to hear.

"Go call the doctor." He said to someone. I heard his footsteps coming towards me.

"Hazel, are you okay?" Ryan asked with his tone dripping with concern.

"'I-I don't know what happened to me. My hand hurts." I told him as my voice came out hoarse as ever.

"Jeez, Hazel...You don't know what you did. God! You don't know that you almost got yourself k-" He stopped midway.

"You know what happened in the last four hours? Huh? You don't know what my condition was and when the doctor said you might-" He again stopped. His eyes looked watery but his face showed otherwise. He looked angry.

"Hazel you almost pushed me on the edge of going into depression. You know, I was this close of-" He again stopped.

"Rh-Ryan...w-what is up with your stopping? A-And I am not getting a word you are saying. First of al-" I too stopped midway as I realized that my throat was totally dry. When I was about to point towards the glass on the side table, to ask Ryan to pass it to me, the glass was already brought to my lips.

"Drink." Ryan demanded.

"I am perfectly capable of drinking a glass of water on my own." I argued.

"I said drink. Don't make me repeat it." He warned in a stern tone.

I gave in because I knew that I wouldn't be able to keep up with him for long especially in this condition.

In a second, I had chucked down the whole glass. Ryan looked satisfied and kept the glass back on its place.

"Okay, so, where was I?.......Umm...yeah right, first of all I don't know how the hell I landed here, and second," I stopped and looked at my right arm which was neatly bandaged. "Second, what happened to my arm?" I asked and pointed towards the same.

"It's because of your stupidity that you are lying here on this bed in this condition. You slapped that traitor and I get it okay, that you were angry but you know what that caused you and what that almost did to me? Do you even know what I was feeling when you were inside this operation theatre for four freaking hours? Four freakin' hours. God, you are going to be the death of me some day." He just bombarded me with this and it took me a moment to register what he had just said. While he simmered down a bit and took a seat on the couch which was placed in front of my bed.
