Tadashi cleared his throat, regarding the Master with the respect he had come to build the longer he worked for him.
Never once, had he seen him back down from a threat, no matter how dire the consequences could be if things went the wrong way.
Tadashi would have laughed if he didn't know how serious he was.
He remembered how once, a business partner was in trouble and on the verge of losing everything. Alexander should have pulled out, everyone told him to abandon his partner, it was the wise thing to do.
'Pull out now, you will lose this one,' Tadashi had told him.
'I wasn't wrong to partner up with them, and our health standards are accurate, I did my research, there is no mistake. I'm not wrong.' He'd replied.
Tadashi had gone with him to court and watched him battle tooth and nail with the court. He'd been introduced to a new brand of confidence, solid facts and charisma. He defended his partner to the very end, and he'd emerged victorious.
"Powerful families. Most probably the type that can afford to boss the government around to some extent if they wanted to," Tadashi replied. "But the good thing is that they are only looking in France, and very discreetly from what I have observed, its almost like they are being too careful to make sure no one knows they are looking so the fight might have to wait."
"You said they were desperate."
"They are. They wouldn't have been so careless if they weren't, they don't know he's here and without any knowledge, money is as important as white paint on a white sheet of paper. It's best if we leave them be for now. Let them bring the fight to us, we have the advantage right now so we'll be readying our weapons till then."
"I'm starting to grow on you aren't I? We have the exact same train of thought."
"Are you sure it's not the other way round?"
"Definitely not," the Master replied.
Tadashi laughed.
"What's bugging you so much, you've been trying to get a unibrow since you started talking. What are you not telling me?" He asked Tadashi.
"I was getting to that, it's the family names. From what we know so far, they seem to be three families looking for him. If any of them had the last name Leblanc, then that would be the key to everything."
"Pierre's last name is probably made up," the Master chimed in absentmindedly.
"Maybe. They managed to shut the media down before the public got wind of the news. Only money and a shit ton of power can do that. We just don't have names yet."
"All in due time," the Master said calmly like he always was. "What do you think?"
Tadashi knew he had already thought of every single possibility out there. He'd also probably thought of everything Tadashi had. He sighed knowing the Master was only asking him for a second opinion.
"It could be the age old story; a rich kid running away from home. An abusive family? Too much responsibility? Or he could have been threatened."
"I can bet his family was no where near abusive. He's very insecure, but thats a secondary problem, I don't think it has anything to do with his family," the Master nodded. "You could be right," he said, but he didnt specify which point exactly he agreed with.
"He's too good of a person, I get the feeling many people underestimate him. Pierre is actually strong..."
Tadashi could not recall the Master ever speaking so fondly of anyone, especially someone who was a competitor. Never someone who was a competitor.
