Her Crush

Chapter 4

Sudden deep laughter from the hallway drew Chaeyoung attention. Her head swiveled toward the voice owner. It's Jungkook. Beside him was a tall girl with black hair, smiling at him. She know who's the girl was. She is Yuna, a cheerleading captain. They are looks good together. Both are the captain's and popular student. Watching them, make Chaeyoung envy, but then all the girls who looked at them were.

A second later, they parted way. He is giving her a little wave before he stepped in the cafetaria. Meanwhile the girl keep walking, to the gymnasium. Halfway to the food counter, he glanced up toward Chaeyoung's table. Her eyes widen and she ducked her head immediately, shifted her eyes back to her food. Her heart beating like crazy. 'Am I being caught staring at him?' She bite her lips. She looked at Bambam in front of her, he seem clueless and busy munching his food while playing games at his phone. When she glance up at Jungkook again, he's already in queue for his food. Relief poured into her, easing her heart a little to calm down.

Seeing him with another girl was... good. She could handle that because what Lisa and Bams were suggesting few days ago. They said maybe she and Jungkook would become friends. She was okay with that though, because it was nice to have more friends. But as she walking back home and lay on her bed, for a moment, a really brief moment, she wondered what it would be like if Jungkook had been interested in her in romantic way, to look forward to dates, to first kisses. She bet it would be nice.

In fact, the real situation right now, she was avoiding him because she still feel embarrassed about what happened a week ago. She try to minimized the chance to have an encounter with him. She will eventually drag Lisa or the boys to come with her if she want to go to the cafetaria like right now.

To be honest, it was really nice having a small talk with him. He prompt subtle conversation to help her feel more comfortable, make her doesn't shy away from him. But she didn't expect him to asked about her having boyfriend. She was so shocked that she spluttered her drink in front of him. Jungkook also surprised and said sorry immediately before handed her a tissue. She feel embarrassed, she can't even lift her head at him but she took the tissue and went to the restroom after. Ughh Chaeyoung, why can't you act normal and lady like in front of him, she sighed inwardly.

"Aren't you going to eat that, Chaeyoung?" Bams asked, pulled out of her thought. She follow his gaze. He was eyeing her food.

"Of course I will." she twirl a fork full of spaghetti then shoved it into her mouth.

Bambam rolled his eyes, "I thought you're not in the mood to eat. You just staring at your plate for a whole damn minutes there"

"Minutes of what?" Lisa appeared with her tray of food, yugyeom trailing behind her. She take a sit beside Chaeyoung, meanwhile Yugyeom sat beside Bambam.

"Chaeyoung was spacing out in front of her food" Bams said while munching, his eyes back to the game on his phone.

"Her prince charming was here, that's why. Should we call him here?" Yugyeom teased.

"Very funny" Chaeyoung rolled her eyes at him.

"By the way, I just heard from friend's friend of my friend from his class that he likes someone, from other class" he said again.

'oh' Chaeyoung ears perk up.

"I wonder if that girl was our dear friend over here" Lisa grinned, nudged Chaeyoung shoulder.

"Don't be ridiculous and stop talking about him" Chaeyoung scrunched her nose and eat her food quickly, but her mind was at the girl with black hair she saw earlier.

Storm clouds were rolling in the afternoon and it looked like it would be a rainy. So before she go to the library, she grabbed a hoodie and slipped it over her shirt, it's gonna be chilly.

As Chaeyoung stepped in, she made her way toward her usual place in the corner. Before she looking for the books she want to read, she pulled out a chocolate bar from her pocket. She opened the wrapper and eat some. Closing her eyes, enjoying the taste of it while thinking what should she read in the gloomy weather like this. Obviously not biology books or math. A fiction? Yess, a fiction will do.

Chaeyoung stood up, walking to the bookshelf and read the label on top of it, looking for fiction genre. She found out that the fiction bookshelf wasn't that far from her usual seat in the corner. Then she began looking for the books which interest her.

She crouch her body down a little when she saw a book that catch her eyes. "To Kill a Mockingbird.." she mumbled. She took the book out before a voice from across the bookshelf call her name.

"Chaeyoung" she was so startled that she straighten her body in quick motion. She bumped her head on the edge of the bookshelf. She hissed then looked up. It's him again. What is he doing in the library?

"Are you alright?" He asked then walked around approached her. Chaeyoung shut her eyes for a brief moment. Not because the pain in her head, or maybe yes a little, but it was from the fact that she embarrass herself, again, in front of him.

"I'm okay" she glance up at him.

"No you're not" he knelt down and take the book which she dropped earlier, she even didn't realise that. He put it back on the bookshelf. "Let me see" he pointed out to her head.

"No Jungkook, I'm fine" her hand still rubbing her head. Jungkook chuckled then took her hand away from her head, holding it as he pulled her closer. Her heart skip a beat, cheeks flushed in a second.

"It seemed okay, no blood injured, just a little tiniest bump appeared" he smiled.

"I told you, I'm fine" she said glancing up at him.

"I'm sorry. You got hurt because of me-"

"Excuse me" A student interrupted them. "If you guys don't mind, I'm looking for a book in this hallway. Is that okay?" She said hesitantly. It make Chaeyoung realise that both of them standing very close, too close. It look like he was doing something to her from the girl point of view. Added their holding hand.

"Sure" Chaeyoung answer, smiling. The girl give a nodded and passing them, she started looking the book in the bookshelf.

"Come with me" he said suddenly, pulled Chaeyoung with him since he already holding her hand. Chaeyoung furrowed her brows. Where is he going to take her? She ask herself. But it didn't take long for her to know where he was going. 

"Jungkook, let go of me" she try to pulled her hand but he was stronger than her. He didn't let go.

"Ms. Kim, I borrowed one of your reguler customer in this library" he said playfully when they passing the librarian. Ms. Kim raised an eyebrow at him. Jungkook chuckled.

'Oh no' Chaeyoung panicked, they're going to go outside the library. More people to come.. looking at them.. holding hands.. and it looks like he's not planning to stop.
