He Felt his eyes stung as he looked at his mom after a whole freaking year. His mother used to be his breath and now seeing her felt like how he has lived the past one year. But then, his heart screamed the second women in the room was the reason behind his life without his mother and he don't regret a bit about loving her more.
Sidharth and Shehnaaz touched her feet while bending down and she kept her her hand over their heads in return. Maa hugged Sana tightly whereas, Sidharth kept gawking at his mother's arms hoping that she might wrap them around him too.
"Tu thik hein na bacha haan check ups karaye the na", Maa asked from her after showering her face with kisses.
"It's been months maa am absolutely fine", Sana replied with a smile but Maa didn't failed to observe the sarcasm which her tone held.
He kept looking at her whereas, his mother didn't spare him a single glance back as if he didn't exist. He blinked his eyes several times to clear his vision when he felt a pull at his hand.
He looked down to found his wife tugging at his hand. She pulled him forcefully and wrapped Maa's hand around his body which Maa jerked away immidiately as if his touch would have burnt her. He moved away from them and Sana did the same too while hugging him at her side as in an attempt to comfort him.
"Chaliye Sidharth let's cut the cake", Sana said diverting the topic.
"H.. Haan", he nodded wiping his tears away as he can't upset his wife.
"Mein video banati hoon aap dono cake kato thik hai chalo", she said plating the halwa moulded in the form of a cake.
"Sana", Maa called her shaking her head.
"What sana chalo jaldi karo", she stated nonchalantly.
Sidharth held the knife in his hand and placed it over at the table whilst looking at his mother hopefully that she might place her hand over hers.
"Maa", Sana called eyeing towards Sidharth's hand to which Maa sighed but agreed.
She placed her hand over his and a sob escaped his mouth as he finally felt his maa's soul soothing touch. It doesn't matter how much a child grows up but the place of parents remains the same.
"Pati dev rondad mat bano and smile i have a camera in my hand", she said rolling her eyes.
"Joh hukum biwi", he chuckled admist his tears and a little smile crept over at maa's face too.
"Chalo maa sing happy b. Day", Sana instructed.
"Tu mera kuj zyada fayda ni utha ri", Maa said raising a brow.
"Beti bola hai toh baat toh manni padegi", she stated nonchalantly.
"Maa feed him i can't do it I need to record this", she instructed making maa roll her eyes at her ever so lame excuse.
"Haan zaroor", Maa said sarcasm dripping down her tone.
She fed him cake without looking into his vulnerable eyes which were yearning for her motherly warmth to which he just received a cold shoulder in return but still he was glad and very much grateful to his wife for all the efforts which she has put up just to make his b. Day special.
They reached home in the next few minutes with Sana acting as a cupid and trying to make things work between them whereas, Mother - Son duo seemed to be in daze. Once reaching home, they settled themselves in the living room and Sana took it as an opportunity to finally let the duo come to the talking terms.
"Maa I will just come from kitchen", she excused herself.
"Haan chal na mein bhi chalti hoon", Maa said getting up.
