As we arrived in the UK, I looked out the airplane window and saw all the bright city lights of Northern England. It somewhat reminded me of home and I had a feeling that maybe things would be alright here. The plane landed and as we got off the air was warmer than Norway, not by much but then again Norway is and always has been a very cold place. We went through Manchester Airport Security and got our luggage and made our way to the new house. Dad had rented a car for a month just until he had gotten enough money to buy a new car. When we got to the house I was quite surprised at how nice it was. There was a fence gate and rose bushes surrounding the house, and a cobbled path that lead to the creme-coloured front door. The house was creme-coloured and had pillars holding up a little roof above the door. It was a 2-story house with a little loft. The windows were clear and clean and the roof was made out light and dark grey bricks. The driveway was decently sized and was in front of a little white coloured garage. As Dad was getting our things out the car, Mum opened the door and I was greeted into my new home.

I stepped foot into the house and immediately loved it. It looked so organised and clean. The second you step in the door you see the stairs about 7-10 feet in front of you, they slightly spiralled up into second floor. To your left was the kitchen, it looked so posh and had marble countertops and one of those smart fridges that you could dispense ice and water out of. The kitchen led out into what would be a nice, cosy conservatory, it was white with clear glass windows surrounding it. On your right was the lounge, it looked quite different to the rest of the house, it had a black marble fireplace with white marble floor tiles. We would probably add more dark colours to match the fireplace but keep the light atmosphere to the room. Nearer the back of the first floor was the door to the back garden, the back garden also had a door that led to the conservatory. It had a medium sized patio with flat stone tiles, the rest was grass, but we had a plan to get a built in pool and a barbecue. There was also a downstairs bathroom in the back corner of the first floor, it had around the same decor as the kitchen. It contained a bathtub, a toilet and a sink - we had yet to add more decoration.

As you went up the stairs, there were 4 rooms. Quite a big bedroom that would become my parents bedroom, a slightly smaller bedroom which would become my bedroom, another bathroom which had a shower, bathtub, sink, toilet and a wall mirror, and a spare room which would become an office. My room had two glass doors at the back which led to a little balcony overlooking the countryside. I would often sit out there, either early morning with a journal/planner and a cup of coffee to plan my day and watch the sunrise, or late night with a blanket and my laptop to watch Netflix while the sun set. My room was always my favourite place to be, it gave me  a feeling of safeness and security that no other place ever could. I really loved this house, more than I ever thought possible. I thought it would be so hard to leave Norway behind, but it was easier than expected. Maybe things would be alright here.
