Chapter 1

*bzzz*
First day of summervacation and someone is already irritating me. I open my eyes. A soft sunshine comes trouw my window. Finally. Summer. I turn on my side and grab my phone.

Nienke: Bo wake up!! I have the best idea ever!!
Nienke: *sends tiktok*
Nienke: what do u think! We can go to the beach, find some surf guys for me, and one stupid obsessed f1 guy for you!

I watch the tiktok: 'things u can do in summer!'
I text her back.

Me: O my God! This is the best idea u have ever found!
Me: but the fact that I watched f1 one time doesn't mean I'm obsessed😂
Me: I'm already so excited!!
Me: only the 2 of us or do u wanna ask more girls?
Nienke: omg I'm glad u like it! x
Nienke: maybe we should ask Jasmine 2?
Me: yeah sure! Sounds fun
Me: I'll ask my dad!

I take a quick look at my clock. 9.30. He probably is awake already. I grab a hoodie out of my closet and put it on. It smells like lavender, my mom used to use a fabric softener that smells like that. When I think about her tears are burning. 5 months and 4 days ago my mom died. She was on her motorbike and some stupid trucker drove into her. She already was dead when the ambulance arrived. 'Are u awake Bo!' My dad shouts upstairs. I shake my head to get out of the thoughts. 'Yeah.' I say softly. My voice is broken. I walk back to my bed and fall down. After a few minutes I grab my phone and scroll through my photo's. Without even noticing tears are rolling down my cheek. I look at the photo's of me and mama. Her smile is so calming, just like  an ocean. And her blue eyes have a happy sparkle in it. I love her.
Someone knocks my door. My dad walks in. 'Are u okay?' He asks. I shake my head. She signs to me that I need to make some space. My dad lays down next to me. 'I miss her dad.' I crawl into his arms. 'I miss her to babygirl.' We lay for a few minutes when my phone starts buzzing again. I quickly grab it. Its Nienke again. 'Papa?' I ask shy and nervous. 'Yeah?' - 'Nienke came with the best Idea ever! We want to go on a holiday, fo France in 2 weeks.' I cross my fingers underneath the sheets. 'I don't know, u just are happy again and...' - 'dad please? I think I'm ready for it.' I smile softly at him. 'I have to think about this.' I put a kiss on his cheek. 'Thanks papa.'
We get out of my bed. Dad walks down and I grab some clothes to go for a run.
I grab my phone to check what the weather does. Its 23°C now so I decide to grab a sportshort and a sportbra. I quickly text Nienke

Me: my dad's gonna think over it!

I splash some water in my face. The tears who were al over it are gone now. 'Just think positive thoughts today Bo.' I say to myself while looking into the mirror. I quickly put my hair in a ponytail and put on some mascara. I decide to text Nienke maybe she wants to join. When I want to text her she texts me

Nienke: Greatt, want to go for a run?
Me: i literally wanted to text u to go for a run ahahah! See u in 10
Nienke: see u! x

'Papa!' I shout when I run downstairs. I walk to the kitchen. 'Whats up?' He asks. I grab an apple out of the fridge. 'I'm going to Nienke, okay?' He nods. 'Sure, have fun!' I give him a hug and take a bottle of water out of the fridge. 'See u in 2 hours!' I shout when I leave the house. I plug in my airpods and take a bite of my apple. the sun burns in my skin, the sky is blue without anyclouds. I love summer, it reminds me of how good life is. 

'Boooo!' the little sister of Nienke runs to me and gives me a hug. she's only four but an amazing, sweet, lovely, little girl 'He Sophiee, how u doinggg?' I ask her. her eyes are sparkling when she looks at me, she feels like a sister for me. at home I only have my dad, I'm an only child, and my mom died. 'I'm happy to see u again, its been so lonnnggg.' She says. I chuckle. I let her go 'Ready to go?' I ask Nienke. She nods. 'Sophie we will be back in an hour, can u tell mom?' She nods proud. 'Love u sis.' Nienke says and gives Sophie an hug. 

'So where are we going, when we're going on an holiday?' Nienke asks when we're sitting on a bench. 'France!' I shout the first thing that comes to my mind, She chuckles. 'What! I've never been there and I love how it looks on pictures.' I look at her with puppy eyes. She laughs. 'I see that as a yes.' A sparkle runs down my spine when I think about it. It's gonna be so much fun, swimming al day in the sea, staying up till past midnight, the French food. I'm already in love. 'Bo? Are u still alive?' Nienke pushes my shoulder. I chuckle. 'Yeah I'm still here.' We both start laughing.

'See u in 45 minutes!' I say to Nienke and walk towards home.
'I'm home!' I put my keys in a cupboard and run upstairs. I fall down on my bed and sight. I love to run, or being active. Its like running away of your problems and just think about nothing.
After 5 minutes of checking instagram I stand up and grab some clothes out of my closet. A pastel top and a mom jeans. I walk to the bathroom and lock the door. I put my clothes on a little cupboard and put on the shower. When the water is warm enough I get under the warm shower. The hot water relaxes my muscles, all problems slide off my shoulders.

'Hey bo!' The mom of Nienke says when I arrive. 'She's in the garden.' I give her a hug. 'Okay, thanks.' The mom of Nienke is like a mom for me. Since mama died she's always been there for me. I can tell her everything.
'U sexy!' Nienke shouts when I arrive. 'We should take some pictures for the gramm.' She says chuckling. 'Maybe there will be some cute boys.' I laugh. 'U always are looking for guys aren't u?' She giggles.

We live in a little village near Zandvoort. Its like a 10 walk to the beach so we decide to take pictures there.
'U look beautiful today!' I turn around. Bram walks towards me. Its a friend of my, he was my classmate in kindergarten and primary school. 'Bram!' I give him a hug. 'Long time no see.' He says and gives Nienke a hug. 'How ur guys doing?' He asks. 'Yeah fine, you?' He smiles. 'I'm great!' He looks so happy. 'U look happy.' I say. 'I am! I've met this amazing girl, she's so gorgeous and nice to me.' He starts blushing. 'Ahww I'm happy for u!'

'I like this one.' I say while we're looking at the camera. Nienke wants to be a photographer when she finishes school. She already takes great pictures so she helps me with taking pictures on Instagram. 'I'll send it u.' She says. After a few seconds my phone buzzes. 'Here u go.' Nienke says. I scroll to instagram and post the picture.

'I was the first one!' Nienke shouts when she liked my post. I start laughing. 'U always are the first one.'
'We should ask Jasmine if she comes over, we could look for some places we could go and some campsites.' I say. Nienke nods and calls Jasmine.
'She's here in 5.' I stand up. 'Want something to drink?' She nods again. 'Yeah water is fine.' I run downstairs. 'Dad?' I hear some sounds out of the living room. 'Yeah what's wrong sweetie?' My dad is watching TV. 'Ehm... did u already think about it?' He raises his eyebrows. 'About what?' - 'About the trip, with Nienke and Jasmine.' I sight. 'Yeah i did, I think u Shouldn't go.' He says. 'Come on dad! I'm almost 20! And I've never been on a holiday without parents, please?' I look at him with puppy eyes. He sights. 'Okay than.' I run towards him. 'Thank u papa.' I walk back to the kitchen and grab 3 glasses and fill them with water. 'Hey Bo!' Jasmine says when she walks in. 'Hey girl!' I give a hug. 'Can u help me bring this upstairs.' I hand her 2 glasses of water. I quick grabs some snacks and take the other glasse with me.
'Here she is!' Is say when Jasmine and I walk back in my room. 'So an holiday huh?' Jasmine says excited.
