Chapter 6

Six months later

Jason looks around the old studio that was once home to Lady Luck designs. Well in reality it still is Bruce has been paying for it in hopes of a miracle, everyone knows it's wishful thinking.

Six months ago

Jason looks around and notices he and his family minus Damian are chained to the ground, he continues to scan his surroundings as do the others who are coming to their senses. "Talia why are we here," Bruce asks as he studies her. She smiles "you'll see any minute now," everything is quiet as they wait. Soon Marinette and Damian come in being followed by members of the league. "Mother! Release my family!" Robin says threateningly as he points his katana at her, she only smiles "it's not them I'm after my dear son" she pauses before looking at Marinette "it's her, well what she has to offer" Marinette only rolls her eyes. "Oh Talia you're so sweet," Talia smiles "Marinette my dear if you just pledge your loyalty to the league they will be set free after all you'd do anything for the ones you care for." Marinette thinks for a moment before it clicks. "All those months ago you purposely got caught by the bats". Talia smirks "of course," she starts walking behind each member of the family when talking about them "I knew Bruce would spot me, and I knew you and Dick would get along so well I'd be like your siblings, same with dear sweet Cassandra" she pauses in between Jason and Tim "what I wasn't expecting was for you to fall in love with the bad boy" she grabs Jason's face and holds it to face Marinette. She lets go before she plays with Tim's hair "In all honesty, I thought you would have fallen for Tim, after all, he is so much like your first love Adrien Agreste" Marinette glares at her "Adrien was a coward and traitor, Tim is nothing like him," Talia smiles "Do they know? Did you ever tell them your past? I know for a fact that they looked you up, but it's different hearing it from you," Marinette never flinches as Talia starts walking towards her "You know I told you I would kill whoever you love to get you to join the league. I'll leave you with no one," Both ladies are standing face to face in a staredown.

Talia seemed to forget that Marinette didn't come alone. As both ladies were doing their stare down of each other Damian started to work on freeing the others. "Hurry up Brat" Tim whispers at him as he and Jason were the only ones left. "Shut it Drake I'm working,". At this point, the others started to engage in combat with members of the league alerting Marinette and Talia. Both women draw their swords and start fight sing as the other continue theirs. The only problem was with their limited weapons and moral code they were quickly defeated with only Marinette and Talia still standing. The others forced to watch as both women analyze each other, circling one another. Marinette suddenly stops causing Talia to stop as well. "Talia did you know the Miraculous are bound to my me, well bound to my life," She raises a brow and nods at Marinette to continue. She smiles "A long time ago I was probably 17 I tried to end it all but the Kwamis stopped me, the instilled a curse on me. The only way to free me from this world and them was to either die of natural causes, die fighting for something I believe in, or sacrificing myself for the or ones I love. Do you know why they did this Talia" she never responds. Marinette continues "it's because they believed everything would be okay for me in the end, that I would live the life I had wanted as a child. It never happened." Marinette walks to the middle of the room and places the miracle box in the center. She then walks over to Jason and smiling pulls down her mask and kisses him for the first time and takes the knife from inside his suit pocket.

While watching this Damian starts to thrash trying to free himself of the assassins holding him down as do the others realizing what was about to happen. Jason stunned by what just happens didn't have time to react and only watches as Marinette takes his knife "I love you all so much," and plunges it into her heart. The moment this happens the miracle box turns to ash as do the Miraculous. The Kwamis now free watch in horror as Marinette bleeds out on the floor in front of the people she had come to love as her own. The Bat-family and Talia rush to see if she can be saved only for her body to be turned to ash, never to be revived.
