Next Door

The rest of my classes were very boring. It was a cycle: "Hello class my name is...", "These are your permanent seats...", "Take these cards home...", and "Here's what you'll need for my class...". BLAH BLAH BLAH.

I have Tiffany in only three of my classes and Ally in some of my other classes too. She looked lost in History without her clique (she just met them today, I might add). I got the occasional death glances but I let them roll of my back.

The first day of school always gives me anxiety, there are so many papers that must be signed and things to bring in to my teachers.

Ally is in my homeroom too, how great.

She pushes me as I'm walking to my desk. I bump right it into someone "Sorry.", I say. I look up to see one of Allys minions. She looks stuck. Fumbling over what to say probably because she isn't supposed to talk to me, 'Allys orders'. I glance at Ally who is now at her desk watching this scene play out. "It's cool.", I reply to her attempt of an apology. The minion scurries over to her leader. That's just sad.

I'm outside waiting for Tiffany when 'Princess' Ally comes out, her minions not far behind. "Watch out four eyes?", she says as she passes me going down the stairs. (First of all, my glasses are just for fashion)

This is just getting dumb. "What?", I reply. She turns around, whipping her hair too.

She responds pronouncing each word one by one, "I. Said. Watch. Out. Four. Eyes. You can't hear eaither?", she asks, faking sympathy.

"Oh, no I can hear. But there's no need for me to watch out because you won't get in my way."

Tiffany walks out and looks at my face, knowing not to say anything. She grabs my arm and takes me to the bus stop.

It's our tradition to take the bus during the first month of school since sixth grade.

"She's such a low life!" I mumble while getting on the bus. She really is, because she has nothing better to do.

"Yeah, I know. Maybe if we throw a stick, she'll go away.", Tiffany tries to lighten tell mood.

"That's just mean." I chuckle, though, it was was funny.

The bumpy ride home was fun. We talk about our classes and the boring teachers. Some other students were on the bus too. The twenty minute drive went by in a blink of an eye.

.

Tiffany and I sat on my bed going through what seems like endless piles of papers to get signed by our parents. "I mean, like, why can't they just use our old information for our old schools?!" Tiffany says in frustration.

"Maybe because the information changes.", I reply in annoyance.

"Did you see that the house next to you was sold?".

"No, Really?", I ran to look out my window. Yup. A big SOLD sign right in the front lawn. A u-haul moving truck in the driveway. I guess they're moving in today.

"They're moving in today too.", I tell Tiffany.

"Omg imagine if it was Tiffany.", she giggles.

"Not funny.", I roll my eyes. "Actually maybe I could toy with her if it was. I start laughing too. "Yeah, I could bug her everyday."

"You could sneak through her window and fill her over-priced shampoo bottle with red dye."

"And she'll come out with looking like The Little Mermaid-", I'm in a fit of giggles.

Tiffany wipes the tear from her eye and starts to hula and sing "Under the sea.... under the sea!.. something something something-". The bell rings and we are both cracking up. Our jokes aren't that funny but we always make each other laugh. "I'll get the door. ", I say as I exhale.

It's probably my mom.

I open the door "Hey mom, Tiffanys here-".

It wasn't mom. Some boy, with green eyes, brown hair, a light scar on his right cheek, about my age, probably 5 inches taller than me, long eyelashes, in a Navy blue tee, dark jeans, and sneakers... was at my door. It's been five awkward seconds and I realized I didn't anything. "Um, hello...?". He looks really shy. "Hi, my family and I just moved next door. I'm Gabriel." He extends his arm. I extend mine and shake his hand.
