Back at the lab we were always required to wear our half breed form. Delirious would show his raccoon ears and tail but stay in human form. I would have my wings spread out and keep my human form as well.

Now we had to keep the hidden. It hurt sometimes I'd keep them under my shirt pressed tight against my back and other times I would just stay in human form.

"Sit on the couch and let me see it necklace thing." Craig ordered. Del sat in front of Craig on the floor. Craig got out his tools and looked at the collar.

"That's a difficult lock and it seems like it's made so that no one can take it off." He explained. "Fortunately I know exactly how to get it off." He smirked and spun his tool around his finger.

"Do whatever you need to do, I just need it off."Delirious shrugged. Craig nodded and leaned forward, pulling on the collar to get a better look. I sat in front of Del and held his hand. He smiled at me. He seemed worried and relived at the same time.

"Are your wounds healed?" I asked in a low voice. He rolled up his sweatpants and it revealed a bullet wound. It was closed but still needed another 10 hours to heal fully.

Now that we are hybrids our blood and bodies are different. We now heal faster than the average human. My stomach wound is getting better. I can move around better. Both of us were acting like it hurt a lot more than usual.

The collar beeped twice and Craig held his hands up with confusion. Delirious looked at me with fear and pushed me away. The eletrical shock came around his body and he let out a yell before punching the ground and squeezing his eyes shut.

"Its gonna be ok." I tried to comfort him. He gritted his teeth and growled to keep back a scream. I felt useless. I wasn't able to warn him when that guard was behind him. Now he has to suffer for something I couldn't warn him about.

The electric shock stopped and Delirious sighed.

"It hurt less this time. I think Craig tripped an alarm." Delirious explained and sat back down. Craig set his tool down. He looked guilty and scared.

"I'm sorry, I hurt you a lot. We'll pick this up tomorrow." He stuttered. Wildcat put an arm around Craig and whispered words into his hair as he hugged him. I think most of them are dating each other.

I helped Delirious up and he put his head on my shoulder.

"Where are we sleeping?" I asked. Cartoonz clicked his tongue as if an idea popped into his head and signaled us to follow. I put an arm around Delirious and helped him walk. Everytime your shocked it takes you a few minutes to recover.

Cartoonz opened a door and I walked in. He leaned against the doorway. It looked like he had something to say.

"I know you guys have had a rough couple days and you won't tell your story, which I understand. I just hope that we can trust you. The group really likes you guys. Anyways, goodnight guys." He waved and left. We looked at each other with confusion.

"Should we tell them? We can leave put the powers." Delirious asked. I thought about it. There us a chance the could turn us in or ask more questions leading to the truth. Or they could help us. I don't want to seem like a burden .

"We keep it a secret for as long as possible. Our goal is to heal up and leave. We can't get too attached." I said firmly. Delirious smiled at me and nodded.

"Your cute when your bossy." He smirked. I rolled my eyes, it doesn't matter how much trouble we can be on. There's always time to crack a joke.

"Its always you and me. In the end we have to stick together." Delirious said turning serious.

"Thats right." I agreed. Del yawned and and at the bed.

"Are we taking turns sleeping?" He asked. I nodded and sat in a chair.

"I'll take first watch." I volunteered. Delirious nodded and flopped on the bed.

"Thank you Evan." He said. I smiled and turned off the lights.

"No problem John. Good night." I smiled. I listened to Delirious's soft snores. I didn't have a phone to entertain myself. I snapped my fingers and a flame was at the tip of my finger.

I made it a flame that didn't seem so bright, I didn't want to wake Del up. I moved them flame in between my fingers and made shapes with it.

It was 11pm. I'd let Del sleep till 3 am. He'd get 5 hours of sleep and I'll sleep until 8am. Each of us can get 5 hours of sleep. That's enough. I was more awake because I've been sleeping for 3 straight days.

I smiled. It was time. I took off my shirt and stretched my shoulders. I closed my eyes and concentrated. I felt a tingle in my back and felt my back shaping. I opened my eyes and looked behind me. My wings were a mixture of brown and the feathers shined in the moonlight. I stretched them in and out. I couldn't open them all the way, the room was too small.

I stood up and moved them around more. Even though I was in my human form my wings are behind the layer of skin. It cramps up a lot. I shook them around and looked at the window. A night flight would be nice.

I opened the window and climbed out. I climbed onto the roof and sat down. Wrapping my wings around myself provided warmth. I sighed. The wind blew through my jet black hair.
