You awoke next morning to see the black cat had woken you up.

Y/n: Heya. *yawns. How did you get in?

The cat looks at you. You forgot he can't talk in the real world. He points at you and then his eye.

Y/n: What? Oh! How's my eye?

The cat nods "yes".

Y/n: It's fine. I'll worry about that later. Do you know where Coraline's parents are?

He nods again and smirks as he points at Coraline next to you. You realize she's hugging you in her sleep. You blush in surprise making the cat purr which sounded like laughter.

Y/n: Whispers: S-Shut up!

You shake Coraline awake. She yawns and the second she realizes she's hugging you, she let's go and blushes hard.

Coraline: S-Sorry. I must've gotten cold during the night.

Y/n: I-it's fine. By the way, our cat friend knows where your parents are.

Coraline's face lit up.

Coraline: What?! Really?!

The cat nods and signals you two to follow him. He takes you to the mirror which was a separate room in the other world. Looking at it, you see Coraline's parents shaking and blue. They had snow on their heads and shoulders for some reason.

Coraline: Mom! Dad!

Her mother wrote "HELP US" on the mirror before fading away. Coraline got mad and punched the mirror, breaking it into pieces.

Y/n: Coraline, don't! You'll cut yourself.

Coraline sits on the floor and cries into your arms. You hug her trying to calm her down. The cat licks your arm as you look at him.

Y/n: How did this happen?

The cat took you and Coraline back to her parents bedroom and pulled something out from underneath the bed. It was another stupid doll of hers. It had her mothers clothes on one side and her fathers clothes on the other side. Coraline grabbed it in disbelief.

Coraline: She's taken them.

Muttered Coraline. She ran back downstairs and threw it into the fireplace. You, Coraline and the cat all sat and watched the doll burn until it was nothing but ashes. You hugged Coraline who shed tears for her parents. She looked up and noticed a snow globe above the fireplace. She grabbed it and looked at it carefully.

Coraline: They aren't coming back. Mom and dad. Not on their own.

Coraline looked at you and the cat.

Y/n: You mean-?

Coraline: Yes. There's only one thing to do.

You and Coraline grabbed some stuff like a candle, Coraline's hat and the weird magic thing Ms. Spink and Forcible gave you two. You both looked at the door, then at each other.

Y/n: Ready?

Coraline nodded and opened the door. The tunnel wasn't blue and purple anymore. It was pitch black. As you made your way into it, the cat started to speak again.

Cat: You know you two are walking right into her trap.

Coraline: I have to go back. They are my parents.

Y/n: What do we do when we meet with… you know who?

Cat: Why not challenge her? She may not play fair…

Y/n: Play fair? What rubbish!

Cat: Yes, but she won't refuse. She's got a thing for games.

Y/n: Sarcasm aside, that does sound like it could work.
