"Argh..." You groaned as you slowly woke up from your slumber. Your mind slowly drifted back to yesterday afternoon, when you pulled off yet another stunt, switching sword katas in the middle of an attack, not to mention; Mid-air, with the sole purpose of protecting Osamu from your unintentional attack. It was quite successful, quite successful indeed. Yet that got you heavily injured; and the worst part was, that you were bed-ridden for nearly a week, according to Osamu.

"Please, don't pull that off again. Look at you, getting injured like that. Now be good and drink that medicine. It'll help you heal faster." Osamu instructed, while pointing to the bitter, disgusting cup of medicine that he claimed could help you heal faster. You frowned, gave him a small pout, and retorted, "I tasted it just now, it's really bitter. I don't want it."

Osamu didn't want to raise his voice at you, Nor was he one to get mad easily. Yet, after hearing your meaningless rebuttal, he let out a sigh, cleared his throat, and yelled, "LOOK Y/N, IF YOU DON'T DRINK THAT MEDICINE I'LL-"

Apparently, he was so loud, so loud that Atsumu barged in through the bedroom door and covered Osamu's mouth harshly. Only muffled screams could be heard from the grey-haired male. One momment, you were at the verge of tears, and the other, you were surprised that Atsumu barged in and stopped his twin brother from continuing his insults.

"Y/N-chan~ Don't listen to 'samu, he's a big jerk."

"....I understand. I'll drink the medicine."

"Good girl! Big brother Atsumu's gonna give you extra training sessions as a reward!"

You almost barfed at his use of words. Big Brother. Since when was he a big brother figure to you. Compared to Osamu, he sounded like some annoying baby cousin who's hungry and whiny. Yet, you shrugged it off. Atsumu's always been like this. His ridiculous use of words and his whiny atitude is quite adorable sometimes. Moreover, your face lit up almost instantly when he mentioned extra training sessions. Training sessions with Atsumu was fun and beneficial- He was strict, but he'd usually point out your inaccuracies with teases and headpats, unlike Osamu, who tells you the problem in a straightforward manner. You didn't mind though, you only sought improvement so that you can hopefully rid this world of demons. Maybe then, your mother can finally be at peace.

You quickly downed the bitter herbal medicine in one gulp. It was bitter and horrible, but anything for extra training sessions, right? Atsumu rewarded you with a toothy grin and a thumbs up- Osamu finally broke out from his brother's wrath, and both twins fell to the wooden floor with a loud thump

"Piss-haired brat! She's still bed-ridden for a week! Don't you dare go on training sessions with her!"

"Oi, she's strong enough anyways, yer onigiri fanatic! Grrrr....."

Ah yes, seeing the twins argue. Hiding the bubbling anger and vengeance within yourself is quite a difficult task, but seeing the twins' amusing interactions just make you feel like a normal 13-year-old again. You bursted out in laughter, as the twins stared at you in confusion. After a few momments of awkward silence, the twins resumed back to their heated argument.

Although you enjoyed seeing them argue, it eventually got annoying. You were practically brainwashed with the words "onigiri fanatic" and "Piss-haired brat". You reached out one of your shaky hands and requested:

"Guys.. Stop fighting, it's annoying. Besides, can't you guys just give me cuddles or something? I'm not in the best mood right now, y'know!-"

The twins immediately leaped onto your bed, and nudged their faces in the crook of your neck, they inhaled a big breath of your scent- As kitsunes, their 5 senses are far more enhanced than humans. Thus, both of them could smell that hint of sorrow, hatred and vengeance within you. They knew you were thinking about your mother again. They clung onto your clothes even tighter, while moving their nine tails near your legs.

You were still clouded with that feeling you'd felt when you saw the death of your mother, remniscising the past- Yet, a warm, fluffy feeling flooded your mind. The twins were cuddling you up close- Faces nuzzled at the crook of your neck, hands clinging to your clothes, tails wrapped around your legs.

While training, the twins could be harsh at times, while Atsumu might throw a few offensive insults at your face with a cheeky manner, but never, never have you experienced this side of them. Initially, you thought they'd see you as a pet or an aquantaince of some sort, but you'd never expect them to care so deeply for you. Your request for cuddles wasn't genuine, it was to tease them, since you thought they'd just go "Hah? We're not dating, yer idiot!" Never did you expect them to express such affection towards you.

Peacefully, you drifted off to sleep once again.

-1 week later-

"Finally, I don't have to lay in bed like that again!" You rubbed your eyes, as you excitedly hopped off bed barefoot. By then, Atsumu had already washed your priestess uniform and haori, and it was neatly folded, placed beneath your bed. By the time Atsumu came in to wake you up for training, you had already worn your priestess uniform, with the twin blades sheathed and attached to your belt.

"Yer really excited ain't yer?" Atsumu gave off yet another tease. Indeed, what he said was right. You were excited- No, that wasn't the right word. You were determined. Determined to become stronger, in order to rid this world of demons. It was demons who killed the majority of your ancestors, and your mother, of course. Your mother, she was an extremely important person to you. Even though she never bothered teaching you sword katas, or how deadly Mount. Yae was, you still loved her. As the only one by your side, she took great care of you. She cooked amazing food with simple vegetables from the countryside, she told you numerous stories about your ancestors and your katana- And that last bedtime story you got, it insipired you to be who you are today. Two months and a few weeks might not be a long period of time, but it sure brought a huge change to you. Both mentally and psychically.

You wore your armored boots, as you followed Atsumu to the training grounds.

To be continued....

A/N: Sorry for the overuse of Shinobu themes, I just made Y/N's character out of Tobio and Shinobu- Besides, the themes just remind me of ancient japan where all those scary demons might have existed :)
