"We did it captain! Thank god for that hard of Margo's huh?" Thomas said shoving his captain teasingly. "We going to eat for days with all this gold!" The large chested man said with a chuckle as their dinghy pulled up along side of the Vile Whore. "We are sure glad you took us in Captain."
Thomas made his way up the side of of the galleon on a rope ladder. "Not like we gave ye a choice though." He said with a grin as he helped Gabriel aboard the ship.
"Ye have proved ye worth so far." Gabriel said simply as his feet met with the wooden deck. "Try not to have the other side of your head caved in next though. Don't be needed three of ye."
Grog approached the two from across the deck and nodded in agreement. "Aye, two be enough." The burly man added, as he helped with the loot they had gathered.
"Double the trouble." Thomas said with a grunt as a for rolled in over the ship. A sharp cold breeze chilled the pirate's spine. Before him two doors rose from the fog as a black cloud danced around them. "What is this?" Thomas said in confusion.
"It is your decision." A demonic voice whispered as the black cloud moved and tickled Thomas' ear. "Long have you spent upon this man's ship. Living with the burden of revenge, yet loyalty to your father."
The black fog engulfed the man as it split in two. When the light returned to the void Thomas stood upon the deck, with Margo. "What be this?!" Margo said nervously. "What is this magic?!"
"You are but two sides of a single coin. One who has been judged, the other formed from that fear. In a world of hatred the answers lay before you." The fog whispered as it swirled around the doors. Each door opened before the two as the stood side by side. "Do ye choose your family, or do ye choose the power to banish those who have done you wrong?" The voice urged them forward to decide. "Two beings, one system; which shall prevail?"
Margo turned to Thomas and pointed at one of the doors. Within it was Grog, Elizabeth, and the crew of the Vile Whore. "The choice is easy! All we need are those that accept us, who cares what the world things. Those we built a bond with are what matters." He said running through the door before Thomas could even speak.
Yet Thomas did not follow his other half. The thoughts and memories of his past weighing heavily upon his decision. "Do you join your brother? Or gain the power to free yourself from the perils of the world?" The shadow shifted and altered itself to take upon the face of a demonic being. "You are in control of your own fate, your body is your own vessel; it does not need to be shared."
Thomas thought on this for several moments. The memories of the past traveling through his mind; Grog raising him from a child, the Queen taking him as her own, even the captain of the ship allowing him safe passage. But those thoughts would quickly change; the death of his father, the bodies across the beach....and the letter. "What will this power bring me?"
"Whatever your heart desires. None shall stand against you, you shall serve as a vessel to unending greatness." The voice replied as a grin grew wider.
Thomas nodded softly as he muscles tensed and he moved toward the doors. "I have decided." The young man said...
...stepping through the door.
